Impossible. I'm in Jersey too, lived in PA for five years, moved back to NJ and still work in Philadelphia... and still not eligible for in-state tuition. You have to prove you have residency in the state for another purpose other than going to school. Renting or buying property doesn't qualify, a part-time job won't get your foot in. The real only way is to show you intend to remain residing in Pennsylvania after graduation, proven with a concrete job offer.
Do you think giving them a reason of caring for a sick family member would suffice? And how can you show proof of a job offer? Isnt that why were going to law school?

with a 174 you can t14, especially with this year's numbers being down! T14s are really trying to keep their medians above 170 so it seems like it might be a splitter friendly year! If you get anything less than a full scholarship from Temple, tell them to get lost! You deserve a full ride there with those numbers! if you have your heart set on it, though, best of luck to you! You'll get in for sure and I'm sure you'll be at least close to that full ride!

Not yet, just the notification on the app status. I'll wait to see if I get any email/snail mail.

I was accepted on 12/19 via status checker and email. Still have not received scholarship info. Based on last year's posts, I think it should come via snail mail sometime this week.

Hello ladies and gents,

I just wanted to pop in and let you guys know that I received scholarship information last night via snail mail. I'm a PA resident and was given $30k over 3 years (so 10k/year). My numbers are: LSAT 167, GPA 3.18 cum (including a 15 credit hours of 0.0 because I left the state with a family emergency), but a 4.3 LSAC/4.0 Institutional GPA from my degree-granting school.

The scholly info came with the official acceptance mailing. If you check the Temple Status Checker, there is a section for mailings and you can see if they've sent the package yet.

Best of luck to all of you, congrats to those who have been accepted, and I look forward to seeing you all in August!

All my best,
Sarah

PS - I'm local to Philly (Grad Hospital area) so maybe we should have a pre-1L get together for the locals??

Same, they referred to it as the "Beasley Scholarship" that they grant to a group of students. In-state also, so tuition would end up being <$2000 annually with in-state rates.

Temple 3L here. Happy to answer questions, if anyone has any. This site was helpful (mostly) when I was a 0L.

In the status checker, I was originally listed complete as of 12/11 and now it is showing that I'm complete as of yesterday. Can anyone tell me what this could mean for the amount of time I have left to wait before hearing back?

update: original 'complete' date was 12/11, updated to 'complete' on 1/16, and was admitted via status checker this afternoon!! No email as of right now, but I'm assuming it will follow shortly.

No, because your permanent residency was in Jersey (I'm assuming that you registered your car in Jersey, changed your address to Jersey, and filed taxes in Jersey). The state isn't going to be concerned with your reason why, just that you left.

The job status shows that you have intentions on staying in Pennsylvania, and it would be a letter of intent and I'm sure some forms from an employer stating that they're offering you a job upon graduation.

Pennsylvania is by far one of the hardest states to gain in-state tuition. It's why I didn't bother to apply to Temple, and because apparently they're stingy with scholarships anyways (judging by the stats here). I'm much happier attending a school like Penn State with a full scholarship or Rutgers on a better scholarship.

Got my packet, 17.5k per year for three years with 2/3 stipulation.

From Philly, wouldn't mine going back but the 2/3rd stip worries me.

Is that an instate-tuition rate? Or out of state. Either way, you're above both medians so I would try to get a better offer and leverage with them.

It is in-state. And yeah, I will be. I have a full ride w/ no stips from Iowa.
In-state is like 20k though, you think they'd not be so incredibly stingy with how applications are.

Ya I'm hoping temple starts to up their offers. Seems as though the out of state offers are very tough to get full scholly while they are much more likely to dish out the money to in state applicants

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
