No.

Is it due to bad employment stats?

Yea and bad scholarship retention rate as well so its like not even worth the risk for the scholarships.

Don't think USF will budge on their scholarships. Tried to negotiate with them early on and didn't get any movement. Also, their retention rate for schollys is a bit worrisome.

Yeah I tried negotiating too, even submitting other school's higher offers, and with new work/volunteer experience added to my resume since applying. They said they base it on your GPA and LSAT, and that they don't do offer matching :(

Congrats on the acceptance stefne!

Thanks! Where can I find the info on the retention rate for scholly's? Also, does anyone know if you take the June LSAT and get a better score if schools will up scholarship money?

My deposit deadline hasn't come up yet for USF...I was planning to send one in there and Suffolk...got wait listed at UofA and haven't heard from ASU yet-my top choices

Hi All,

Congratulations to those accepted and good luck to those still waiting. Received my acceptance to the part-time program on Friday after applying late in the cycle. Received a merit scholarship that would cover roughly half of the first year's tuition, however, not renewable for the following years.

Based on the thread, it doesn't look like anyone has had success negotiating additional merit based aid. Even while working full time, I am hesisitant to come out of pocket for the full tuition in the remaining 3 years of the program. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on successful negotiations with USF or know current students who have received scholarships in years 2 & 3.

Thanks

A lot of people lose their scholarships. My housemate is a 3L at USF. No success negotiating with them or SCU

I made my 1st deposit last week and I seriously need advice on my decisions: syracuse, usf or suffolk? I lived in Boston for the past two and half years, and loved it. I've never been to San Fran, and am dying to go. The only thing that syracuse attracts me is that it has a better reputation as a national university than the other two schools. but, it's too far away from a big city. I'm tired of living in a place so far away from everything. How much difference you guys think that location of school can make? (potential opportunities/network) Thank you! :D

I was choosing between USF and Suffolk also. I decided to go with Suffolk mainly because they offered me money but, like you, wanted to go to San Fran. I didn't visit USF but I did visit Suffolk a few times and everyone seemed very happy and accommodating there. If you already have connections in Boston it may be easier to utilize them for potential jobs or internships...just something to think about.

Any thoughts on USF extending their Fall 2014 application deadline into the first week of June? I know it was previously stated they would accept June LSAT scores but this makes me think application numbers in general are lower than expected. Hopefully that means increased scholarship $$ for current admits/waitlisters?

Got accepted 4/25 and visited last week. After completing undergrad on the east coast, I really don't want to move or leave LA again. The admissions people were nice, but paying full price is scary. Still waiting for a decision from Pepperdine.

I have a deposit down, but I'm on the WL at Pepperdine and am hoping to turn that into an acceptance. If you're not from the bay and don't have a housing situation, however, I suggest you get on that NOW. The SF housing market is ridiculous.

We're 20 minutes from USF by BART and then 5 minutes bus ride.

How on earth do you get from BART to USF in 5 minutes on a bus? Is there a dedicated shuttle? Muni is sloooow.

Also, is anyone else on the waitlist?

I'd plan on at least 45 minutes, possibly 1 hour. BART is reliable (mostly) from Daly City to Civic Center Station or Powell, then you can hop on a 5L (limited - or a regular 5, which will take you longer). While Muni should be running pretty reliably on weekdays, and you'll be going against the rush hour commute, sometimes things just get crazy with the buses.

(note: not attending USF, but I live near the campus and am a frequent rider of the 5)
