Re: GA State C/O 2017 (Applicants 2013-2014)
Second Review Pending
Thank you for your interest in the Georgia State University College of Law. Your application has been reviewed and unfortunately a decision has not been reached at this time. An additional review of your application is required before a final decision is rendered. The Admissions Selection Committee may choose to re-evaluate your application after first reviewing additional files in the applicant pool.
So this is a hold for second review. Not too thrilled but I'm not out yet!

I spoke w/ Dr. Jester- George today, Director of Admissions; she says in this 2nd review process there are 2 terms. So you will get an accept, deny, or waitlist by March 15th, the waitlists will be reviewes in April, then a decision by May.
I really hope I get in the 1st go 'round

I am local and I State is my first choice. Im a URM nontrad with a family, if GSU doesn't happen I'll consider moving to FL or the DC area for another school. Im happy to still be in the process though. Are you on Hold too?doubledawg3378 wrote:claimedat40 wrote:Second Review Pending

Anyone heard anything regarding scholarships? I emailed a couple of weeks ago but never I heard anything back, just trying to figure out if anyone is going to be getting stacks from the school.

hey katy asking since i know your numbers from another thread we chatted in - do people with higher numbers like us actually get seriously considered by the school or are they afraid of us as another nan-matriculating statistic? I have heard competing theories and since we're both talking on the GSU board i figured id get your opinionKatyMarie wrote:Wondering this too..Got a call from the Dean and he gave me his number and email address and discussed the new building, but no mention of $$ yet.codyal90 wrote:Anyone heard anything regarding scholarships? Are you talking about the "2nd Review Pending" Status? If so, I was told February, to receive a decision by March 15th.goldgirl786 wrote:Anyone know when they'll start reviewing applicants on hold? Been on hold since 12/11...frustrating!

Re: GA State C/O 2017 (Applicants 2013-2014)
Honestly, I have no idea...I went to GSU Undergrad even though I was way above numbers because they paid my Tuition/fees/books, entire cost of living during undergrad, and bought me a laptop....not to mention I've always loved GSU. I know undergrad is a different animal, but from my experience, it looks like they know that they have to at least offer scholarship plus stipend to get higher numbers like us to matriculate, so they may not want to do that. BUT, they are super excited about their rise in the rankings (65 -> 54 in 4 years), so I think we have a significant opportunity to get full ride offers at a minimum from them, and probably full ride without stipulations and a living stipend. But what do I know.
That was my thought process in applying anyway, along with my really strong family connections to and love for GSU. Also, the not having to move thing would be pretty awesome.

I'm late to the party, but checking in.

If it matters at all, I applied for the PT program and I'm a non-traditional. GSU is my #1 choice (only 2 choices for PT in Georgia) but it's a slight reach. If I don't make it this cycle I'll probably retake and reapply next year.

I was in preliminary review for maybe a day or two. Not very long though (obviously since there we're only 4 days between going complete and going in review). I can't remember if I went into preliminary review the same day as I went complete or the next day though.nyenina wrote:
