It is unfortunate that posters here would love to attend but can't because of Loyola's inflexibility. I am hoping that all this negative feedback and law school transparency organizations condemning the 50% stip would make them reconsider.
FYI I have a friend who went to Loyola and told me that since the top of the class all tries to transfer out at the end of 1L, they offer full tuition scholarships then to many of their top performers. These sort of actions suggest that they do care.
If I were in the position of those who want to go, I would keep emailing Loyola with requests to negotiate and add new updates and offers from other schools. But I am sure that this will be much easier to do once the seat deposit deadline comes/goes.
LLS pumps up the scholarships of those in the Top 10% after 1L (if they ask).
Again, to everyone trying to get more money out of LLS: it happens. Just be prepared to drop a seat deposit or two.

Congrats. Did your status ever change on the status checker or did you get the admit packet unexpectedly?

It updated to "decision rendered", but I hadn't checked it in a few days..so it was a surprise.

Sounds about right. Loyola doesn't show the cr1-2s. It goes right from complete to DR for all of us.
i actually think its acceptances for you. good luck!

Changed to decision rendered on Friday and just got my acceptance package. Did those who received scholarship get it with their initial letter or did that come later?

Applied on 2/3, went complete shortly after with a first status change (still saying "application complete") on 3/20.. come on Loyola, give me some idea before seat deposits are due! Sigh.

Haha, thanks!
It was an acceptance packet! Guess they doled out all of their money for scholarships, didn't receive any offers. It doesn't sound like they're big on negotiating without a seat deposit? I've got pretty good offers from similarly and better ranked schools so I don't want to pay for a seat deposit for nothing, I'm already pretty broke.

Top 75% instead of to 50%. It's a step in the right direction.

lol, Pepperdine better follow suit or they're going to tank. Top 50% isn't going to cut it these days. LLS is wising up.

Yes, even for LLS if you get a B- average you lose your scholarship! -.- They fell SO much in the rankings... I don't think it's worth it. They should have made the only stip to "remain in good academic standing".

Looks like LLS admins actually read this thread and adjust accordingly.

In case anyone is interested, I received a letter over the weekend that bumped my scholly from 52k to 96k and lowered the stip from 3.2 to 2.8
I previously emailed the school about negotiating the scholly amount (which they promptly rejected) so I was very surprised to get this letter.
Anyone else??

I would be vey impressed if Loyola took notice of the more-informed student application pool or the boards with suggestions like these (the need to negotiating scholarships or relax stipulations, etc.) as a competitive near-requirement for schools in todays market with years like Loyola (huge drops in rank the last couple years, peer + higher schools with better stipulations/scholarships..).
That gives me some hope!
