Wow, looks like BC dropped to 36...that's getting close to free-fall territory!

How is your GPA? I don't think they love splitters, so if you are at median LSAT and your GPA is solid, then it might be worth the money to apply.

Anyone think this will make them more open to negotiating against offers from schools like BU, Bama, W&M, and W&L?SparkyZZZ wrote:Wow, looks like BC dropped to 36...that's getting close to free-fall territory!
Rankings be damned, they're still my top choice!

Well, if you have an offer from BU then I definitely think you could use that considering BU went up, and it is the same market.
It doesn't look like you can use W&L since their ranking looks like it imploded.

They're taking so damn long with mine. Definitely a consider with a full ride or close to it. BU was so quick and friendly with my app.

Will an 11th hour change in the USN rankings really make a difference in admissions and/or scholarship offers for the class of 2017?

Thinking about negotiating with these guys using ND and WUSTL. Higher ranked schools for sure but also not in the same market. Think it might work? Of course, I'm going to be negotiating in a few weeks if I don;t hear anything from them.

It is a big drop man. But if I can use that drop to squeeze out more scholarship $, then BC all the way. Still a strong alum network and placement chance for the Boston area.kobe1020 wrote:now BC is ranked 36. big drop.

I applied on 1/10 and I went complete on 1/13 and then again on 2/14. Is it weird that I'm still not under review? I feel like it's been awhile.

I'm similar. Applied 1/4 and completes 1/8 and 2/21. It sounds like once you do go under review, a decision follows quickly. Definitely would like to hear back soon as BC is (was?) totally a top contender for me especially with a decent scholarship.ame13 wrote:I applied on 1/10 and I went complete on 1/13 and then again on 2/14. You should be able to use ND to negotiate. I grew up in the Boston area and know that BC and ND consider themselves "peers" (that's in quotes because they are actually more like rivals).couchpizza wrote:Thinking about negotiating with these guys using ND and WUSTL. Another note, I wouldn't worry about BC's drop in rankings. I've always thought BU is better if you want to leave Mass and BC is better if you want to stay, and I think that still holds true. BC really is held in high regard around Boston.

1) I get accepted
2) the administration throws extra scholarship $$ around to massively improve rankings for next year
3) profit

Just throwing this out there and hear what your opinions are...
I was accepted to UMN which is ranked higher than BC and was offered a pretty decent scholly. BC accepted me in January but still no word on scholly. I'm a splitter: high GPA but lower LSAT (in their 25th%tile), great softs and letters of recommendations.
Should I email them? Or wait it out another week or two?

Wait it out. I got this pointer from someone ITT who tried negotiating. And also, trust me, you're not the only one itching for a scholly ITT.
