I sent one on Monday after having attending the April 3rd ASD. No response yet. Unsure what to do with the April 15th deposit deadline coming up soon. I've heard that once you've made an initial deposit at a school you lose leverage and they become less interested in negotiating with you. Is this credited?

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. Very skimpy. Zero Grad Plus money. Based on a conversation I had with an admissions rep at the ASD though, he made it sound like you had to request/apply for the Grad Plus loan seperately. So, who knows. I'll fire off an email and see what's what.

Yea, I think everyone is eligible for GradPLUS. Every school, including BC, gave the max allowance in Unsubsidized loans ($20,500). Some schools explicitly mention Grad PLUS, and some didn't, but I think that's an option for everyone.

One school, for example, said "GradPLUS - or private loan" which makes it sound like that isn't something we need to be "granted" by the school

I just got in today. How did you get the award, email? How long after admission?

congrats! i got it via e-mail (which is goot, because i somehow locked myself out of the portal). i got in three weeks ago.

this is kind of a pain because i have less than a week to decide now. :/ i wish they'd extend out a bit for people who got in "later."

Anyone know if BC is cool with multiple deposits? As in like BC and one other school?

I'm doing the same thing and when I called admissions it seems like its fine but you will lose the deposit. But, I'm pretty sure in mid-May LSAC sends a list of all students who have sent multiple deposits so the schools you've deposited at will find out by then.

Yeah they definitely get that list from LSAC, that's why I wanted to know whether BC was cool about it. I know that schools generally don't like admits placing multiple deposits, but if the school's okay with it, they won't freak out when they see your name on that list.

Rankings are somewhat irrelevant. Just make sure you understand the job prospects for each school.

Rankings may be a lot of BS, but if BC kept dropping the next 2 or 3 years, it could be out of the top 50 by the time current 0Ls graduate (not saying this is at all likely). That could result in fewer firms going to OCI due to some perceived drop in prestige. At that point, it could have a real impact on job prospects. This makes it seem somewhat relevant to me.

Im considering BC/BU now, and I can't really understand how they got so separated this year either. General TLS consensus seems to be that BC has better employment, but the rankings don't seem to be in line with that. Anyone else have any ideas?

Do we have any idea what the academic calendar will look like? I can see last and this years, but not the 2014-2015 one. I can find the university one, but not the law school specific one. I'm trying to figure out when orientation and things will be to figure out when I need to begin a lease and move in! Can it be assumed that the dates will align with the university one or with the law school ones for past years?
