Re: Fordham c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I applied early with a lower LSAT score than you (non-URM), got in in Feb. Its not just 165+ that get in right away. I tried to negotiate with Fordham several times to match better offers from Cardozo/BU/BC, but they wouldn't budge. Based on phone convos, it seems the amounts they give in scholarship money are directly tied to your stats, and rarely veer from that. They think that they have something great to offer, despite their US News / ATL ranking (or lack thereof)- being in NYC, a brand new building, and Biglaw numbers that are better than many of its peer schools. At least, this has been my impression in dealing with them.
Hope to see you all in the fall.
So are u leaning towards fordham with less money or bc,bu,cardozo with more money
If I don't get off of any waitlists, I'm going to Fordham (I've already made the second deposit). In the end, in my mind, the only thing that really matters is employment prospects. I have my sights set on Biglaw coming out of school, and if you look at the employment stats Fordham is the best option. After not performing as well three years ago, they have increased the percentage of graduating students by 5% each year. They are downsizing their entering classes, which may make that number go up even higher if the number that Biglaw takes from Fordham remains constant. I also want to practice law in NY or DC, not Bosto, so that factored into the decision as well.

Completely agree. It's so delayed. I've put down deposits are Cardozo, but Fordham is my top choice. Doubt I'll get more (if anything) out of them than I already have at Dozo.fratstar1 wrote:elle.woods8 wrote:Congrats! Mind posting your stats and key movement dates (when waitlisted, etc.)? Thanks!fratstar1 wrote:got in. It's going to be a tough decision considering how much money BC is offering me. I want NY tho.
164 3.4 applied in September Waitlisted Dec 10th
It's such a ridiculous school. They initially let everyone in with above a 165 and then waitlist everyone else, even though there last entering class profile indicates that they aren't that competitive. It was always my dream school, and I really want to go, but they really mess you up by letting people in this late.
Anyone recommend calling the Fordham admissions office to confirm they received my LOCI? I emailed it two weeks ago. Thanks!

It looks like it's been a very good recruiting year for Fordham. If this forum is any indication, there has been little to no movement on the waitlist following the second deposit deadline. So, now might be the time for waitlisted applicants to turn the corner and start thinking about and mentally start preparing for their second choice school. At least that's my plan.

They might give it to you a day later idk. If they don't give you cash they're not very down to up the money.

Seems like there is no shot of getting money at this point so may just stay at Seton Hall with 40k scholarship.. don't know if Fordham is worth 50k a year..

Plus room and board adds up to 80K+ a year. 40K at SH is nice but both sides have pros and cons.kellyb4 wrote:Seems like there is no shot of getting money at this point so may just stay at Seton Hall with 40k scholarship.. don't know if Fordham is worth 50k a year..
