does anyone know about this 'letter of intent' with the scholarships? im still waiting on schollys from other schools and even acceptances.

this thing isnt binding is it?

i mean intent is different than will and i guess at this moment in time i INTEND to accept it, contingent i get no better scholarship offer or better school acceptances

They give away giant scholarships and itunes giftcards.

seriously? their large scholarships shoot em to the top?
I three students tell me independently at ASW that they applied to Alabama initially only because the Itunes gift card haha.

Anyone know the odds of getting a scholarship before April 1st, being that this week is Spring Break  :?

Stupid question - if you are admitted after the deposit due date, do you have to pay it immediately?

Did you check your status checker? Were you ever PFCD at any time?

+1 April 1st? Come on now... At least the deposit is cheap, so I've considered depositing here just to buy time...but it's kind of frustrating to spend 100 dollars just to make sure most of your cards are on the table when you have to make a decision, when almost every other school is at least April 15th, if not April 30th/May 1st.

It certainly doesn't bind you. At worst, it's just a waste of $100 :P

Check the language on it. Does it mandate withdrawing applications from all other schools? If it doesn't mandate that you withdraw your other waitlists/acceptances, then I don't see how it could be binding (I'd check if I had the scholarship letter in front of me).

That said, if this scholarship is binding...forget about it, I'll just withdraw. Way too early to do that.

Dinged today as well. Pretty surprised. Makes Emory that much easier a decision. Good luck everyone else.

My condolences go out to the dinged.
For those who received dings through snail mail, does your status checker still say "Pending Final Committee Decision" (or something similar)?

Well, I went to visit in hopes of pulling myself off the PFCD list. Looks like I won't be getting in for a bit. I met with Dean Brady and Dean Brewbaker, who were two of the nicest, most approachable people I have ever met. They really made me want to attend UA Law.
However, one lady actually told me, "We won't tell you until the bitter end." She wasn't the nicest individual, but then again, I'm not the most stellar applicant.

Unsolicited scholarship increase through email today. This decision is going to be a rough one to make.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
