Why is the score on lawschooltransparenty.com so low for Denver?

Do you know if anybody had luck negotiating from no scholarship to money with scholarship offers from similarly ranked schools?zniha wrote:Hey 1L here,

I actually asked them about that and they said they don't have an in-between status. I e-mailed to make sure they weren't waiting on anything from me as all other applications had turned to "In Review". A few hours later, I received the acceptance e-mail.ltrego wrote:I went from complete to accepted, but it took about a month. Hang in there if you're still in Complete.

Hey, I have heard of a couple being successful in picking up a little at a very minimal amount, but you need to move quick because they, "Run out of money..."rosebowlchamps100 wrote:Do you know if anybody had luck negotiating from no scholarship to money with scholarship offers from similarly ranked schools?zniha wrote:Hey 1L here,

About how long has it been taking for decisions? For me Denver is tied with another school that has already accepted me, and given me a hefty amount of scholarship money. DU is closer to home (AZ) plus I have a brother in Glenwood, so Colorado would be a more comfortable move, not to mention that the school is higher ranked...but if April 15 comes around and I haven't heard I'll have to put in my seat deposit.

Try emailing them and letting them know you are waiting on their decision.apetro wrote:About how long has it been taking for decisions? My status was unchanged for quite some time until I emailed them. Received my decision that day.

Would it be wise to do that now? I haven't been in review that long. Figured I should wait until end of March at the earliest. And email, or phone call?

My application has been Complete/Ready for Review since very beginning of January (has exceeded the 8 weeks) and I have yet to hear a decision

You are likely already in review. A lot of people have gone straight from complete to decision. It seems that fewer people had a status change to under review. I bet you will hear back soon. Good Luck!!luke6028 wrote:My application has been Complete/Ready for Review since very beginning of January (has exceeded the 8 weeks) and I have yet to hear a decision

I was left complete for about 6 weeks, and then received an email on a Friday afternoon about 2pm pacific time.
I am excited for the admitted students day. I am headed to Denver tomorrow for the first time! Any recommendations of places to see or eat from the locals?

That would be great! I am staying downtown at the Sheraton, and have a rental car so I can drive outside of downtown as well. Casual lunch places and perhaps trendy dinner restaurant (no more than $30-$35 a person or so). Also, where is a good place to look for a home or apartment to rent? We are looking to spend about $1,000 per month give or take on rent. A nice area, but doesn't have to be anything too fancy. I just don't want to look in the bad area of town and not know it is a bad area.7ofNine wrote:What kind of budget are you on and what do you like? Are you staying right in Denver? Will be around all weekend and beyond in Denver, if any of you need a hand or anything or just want to talk to someone about DU. PM me.

How did everyone feel about ASD yesterday? Too much talk about CU for me, honestly.

I was there and actually really enjoyed all of the panels and the reception afterward. I thought addressing the CU question robustly was a good move personally because it was a question that I was curious about. If people have specific questions about ASD, I'd be happy to answer. Overall, I was most impressed by the friendliness of the faculty at the reception and the camaraderie among 1L classmates that I saw at the class I observed.rosebowlchamps100 wrote:How did everyone feel about ASD yesterday? Sorry to everyone who asked for Denver tips on Friday. I was not on TLS all weekend, I think I got PM's out to everyone but if you are still looking for some info on Denver/surrounding areas hit me up!
I was at ASD too and thought it was pretty nice/informative. I really like DU's push for more experiential learning and how excited the Professors are about it. I am 90% sure I will be at DU this fall and look forward to seeing some of you there!

I thought the ASD was great! I really enjoyed talking with professors and sitting in on a class. I can second the perception of friendship amongst the 1L students in the class I observed. I am 90% sure I will be attending in the fall as well.

When did everyone who got in apply? My application was completed in early January and I still haven't heard anything =( It was "In review" for like 2 months and then I emailed asking and suddenly it was still in review but the date had changed (indicating that they looked at it) and then I got an email about an interview. Did that a few weeks ago. I've already heard from everywhere but Boulder is in my top 2!
