Checking in. I'm currently finishing my undergrad here at UH and I have a couple of friends who are currently 1L's, so if any of y'all have questions feel free to pm me.
Good luck, folks. Hopefully we can do it big in the city of the purple sprite

To those of you who have been admitted, approximately how many weeks passed between your status check date changes? I went under review about 2 weeks ago; wondering when to expect the next date change (or rejection, ha).

Because I'm lazy I'm just going to copy and paste the same answer I gave a few pages back.CLhouston wrote:To those of you who have been admitted, approximately how many weeks passed between your status check date changes? I sent my application 1/1/14
It was received and marked as complete 1/6/14
I don't remember all of "File Under Review" days but the last one was marked 1/22/14
Admitted via Status Checker 2/7/14

Got my scholarship e-mail today. In-state tuition + $15K/year with 2.9 stip. Not bad, considering I thought UH was more stingy.

WTH Houston? Applied 11/15 and still nothing. I don't know why you are doing this to me even I am an OOS.
Above 75th when i applied in Nov. and improved to way above 75th in Dec. If you want to waitlist me, just say it. This is ridiculous.

Does anyone know if Houston follows up their status checker decisions with emails or regular mail?

I would email them. Esp with that kind of LSAT, you should have been offered admission already unless you were a huge splitter.kobe1020 wrote:complete since 11/18. Part-time applicant here. Just submitted my app - was waiting to get my Feb LSAT back. Hoping to hear something soon - I think this wait is harder than the LSAT score wait.
Just saying hi while I wait.

Nope-- sent an email trying to negotiate and got the following response:AT9 wrote:Thanks! I'm 163/3.8x.Attax wrote:Stats? "Thank you for your interest in the University of Houston Law Center. The committee was impressed with your credentials and hopes to see you in our entering class. Our scholarship committee has awarded scholarships generously this year and is not adjusting scholarships at this point in our cycle. However, we may review scholarships later in the spring and summer if more money becomes available.
As you know, we offer one of the largest course curriculums in the country, and our location in one of the country’s largest and most robust legal markets means our students are well-placed to begin their careers. Recently the UH Law Center was once again named a “go-to” law school by the National Law Journal for having one of the largest percentages of students who are hired by the nation’s largest 250 law firms. Our strong ties to the legal community also allows us to have some of the country’s top attorneys come to campus to teach specialized and practice skills courses and coach our winning mock trial and moot court teams. Further, the city of Houston has a cost-of-living that is lower than almost any other major U.S. city, which makes Houston a great place to earn a law degree. We hope that you will continue to consider the Law Center and our relatively low cost-of-attendance versus the quality of education and opportunities. For more information please visit http://www.law.uh.edu/admissions/apply-now.asp.
If you have not already visited the campus, I invite you to attend one of our upcoming events or schedule an individual visit. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!"
