I didn't see where you got those numbers in that article. Is it in that one or another article where they list the SA offers?macsdd wrote:I'm not sure if people on here have access to it, but the Texas Lawyer put out a list of the number of summer associates at larger Texas firms from each law school. Houston came in forth with 37 SA behind UT, SMU, and Harvard. Here's a link if anyone gets the Texas Lawyer and is interested. http://www.texaslawyer.com/home/id=1202 ... curindex=5.

Sorry I assumed the paper version had the same chart in the article as the website. It appears that this is the proper link to the charts: http://www.texaslawyer.com/id=1202655586404

No, the commitment form is not binding. Once the payment deadline is set by the University, the date will be posted to your Peoplesoft account. Payment is usually due sometime in August.paayter wrote:anyone know whether or not the committment form is binding? i noticed it says that if you decide not to go to write to them to make sure you dont get charged tuition or fees? anyone know when that stuff actually gets charged?

Is there any way to check if they've received the commitment form other than calling/emailing them? I mailed mine last week.

I'm sure they received it, I'm just really neurotic about all this stuff.

Why don't you just submit via email? At least then you have a "paper" trail.lsatyolo wrote:Checked it a couple of days ago, no luck.healthyman wrote:Status checker??lsatyolo wrote:Is there any way to check if they've received the commitment form other than calling/emailing them? I submitted mine by email on 5/22, and got an email back on 6/2 stating that it was received and uploaded. It took almost 2 weeks for the response. But they did a "reply" to my original email so I don't know if it would be the same for one that was snail-mailed.lsatyolo wrote:Is there any way to check if they've received the commitment form other than calling/emailing them? For some reason, I didn't lol. I emailed Jamie asking if she could confirm if it was received or not, we'll see what the deal is.paayter wrote:Why don't you just submit via email? Mail at that place is seriously FUBAR! My waitlist letter was sent sometime in May, yet I have yet to ever get it. Same goes for many others. I would Email it before the day is over, just in case!

How many are waiting on the waitlist? Any predictions on when we will hear?

Re: Houston c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
I got word that there were not as many predicted to come off as past years. Also, when I called, I was informed that they had already been selecting individuals off the waitlist. They told that last part to me as if I were dumb, b/c I asked about our files going through a second full review as informed....
I would say the waitlist is ranked, which it is said not to be, if they are picking applicants individually.

I think it might be ranked in the greater sense that higher numbers might be the better door in, but I bet they look for a "fit" rather than just numbers because chances are the higher # person could go somewhere elsethe_dude83 wrote:I got word that there were not as many predicted to come off as past years. Possibly, but I have spoken to the admission office multiple times; more than one person had explained that once they decided to look at the waitlist, notice would go out to those on it asking if they were still interested. At that time you would respond with an LOCI essentially, and then the applications would go through a full second review. I quoted that the other day and I was all but laughed at at the things I said and was made to feel I had been misinformed...
