Same. But I noticed on Law School Numbers for the past several years that after February they really don't give out a lot of scholarships. I realize not everyone posts on there, but the number of scholarships awarded definitely go down significantly after February (0 to 1 or 2). And in last year's TLS thread, someone said the same thing about all the merit scholarships being awarded before March. Only one or two people posted that they heard about a scholarship after March.
Hmmm
Any of those people say anything about negotiating for more?

I applied after the deadline and still got a scholly, so maybe this year is different?

Really? I applied quite a while before and didn't get squat.

FWIW, I'm above both 75%, asked for a scholarship bump (originally offered 60k) and was denied this morning. Was offered much better schollys at better schools, so withdrew my app. They said in the email that they might start reconsidering scholarships again in 'spring or summer'.
Good luck to you guys! There's at least a little more money in the pot.

60k was already pretty generous to begin with. Might have been something like YP with scholly money I guess.

No one said anything about successfully negotiating for more. From what I've been reading, UH doesn't negotiate. However, I think I've read about some un-requested bumps. I'm hoping as people who had scholarship offers withdraw their apps, they divvy out more $ to those with low or no offers. Since the first seat deposit is in a few weeks, we should know more by then.

I was offered 10K/year for 3 years if I maintain a 2.9 GPA in early February. Then I received another $10,000 for first year only a few weeks ago.
So I agree they may start to distribute more money in a few weeks. Can't hurt to ask for more, or maybe to just ask about the process. i.e will abandoned scholarship money be given to people who have not been offered a scholarship to date, or will it be used to bump people up, or some combination?
Is anyone else going to the Scholarship Reception dinner tonight at La Griglia?

do you suggest to get the email in currently so there is time to evaluate or send after the seat deposit deadline?

UH tends to rely heavily upon its low tuition. For out-of-staters they offer in-state tuition and maybe a little more. Scholarship offers tend to fall in the $2-10k range, just enough to be competitive with their perceived peers of SMU/Baylor. A $5k scholarship at UH is about the same COA as 1/2 scholarship at SMU.

I'm stuck in Houston because of my job, and can only go part-time. I'd prefer UH because of their environmental law, but STCL offered way more money. Tuition is similar at both, but no environmental at STCL. I'm torn between the two, which is why I was hoping UH would offer more money to help me decide.

Should I expect a decision by May at this point in the game?

Agreed, really would be upset to submit seat deposits to get a decision the next day.

Nope, retake. WIth a 4-6 point increase you could probably get SMU or UT for similar costs:

I would think that the waitlist and those that have not heard back, will start seeing decisions after the first seat deposit day passes... that way the law school will know how many accepted the first wave of offers...
First seat date the 15th?

Does anyone know if the Law Center's drop in rank will have a dramatic impact on its graduate's job prospects in the Houston area?
