So interesting, the status checker says No "Decisions Will Be Given Over The Phone. There Are No Exceptions To This Policy."theonerd wrote:Idk if this info is helpful to anyone or not, but here it is:

They probably mean that if you call their office they will not tell you anything about your application status over the phone.pagenotfound wrote:So interesting, the status checker says No "Decisions Will Be Given Over The Phone. When they choose to call a student that is a situation that is not under that policy.

Waitlisted last night and sent in a LOCI. Now I am counting on the kindness of strangers to actively withdraw to make room for me. Would you all recommend touring the school to up my stock? I'm about 800 miles away for school and would have to fly in but if it helps I will definitely do it. Also, should I send in another LOCI with different info about a week prior to the first deposit deadline?

Looks to be, I was waitlisted with a <3.0 but I assume being held is better than waitlisted.chingwoo wrote:

Visiting the school will likely be unhelpful, so if you're that far away, I would recommend just sending an LOCI and hoping for the best. It seems like decisions are coming later this year than they did last, so you can hold out a little hope.rosebowlchamps100 wrote:Waitlisted last night and sent in a LOCI. What "different info" would you send in a new LOCI?

Does full tuition include fees? Illinois's fees are really high. Just wondering if you by chance asked this, or knew. Did they say that they couldn't do anything else at this time, or that would never happen?JJ123 wrote:I asked. Great, thanks for the info. I will probably not visit then, I just assumed that visiting might show that I am interested enough to take the time to see the school and attend an open house or something.Chardee_MacDennis wrote:Visiting the school will likely be unhelpful, so if you're that far away, I would recommend just sending an LOCI and hoping for the best. What "different info" would you send in a new LOCI?
For a second LOCI, I was thinking that mentioning different programs, clinics, or unique courses of interest might be helpful, and that doing so closer to the deposit deadline would at least remind them that I exist. It was something I was thinking about after I submitted my LOCI hours after being waitlisted, realizing how desperate I must look.
Great username, btw.

Unless you have something substantive to add-like work experience, new grades, fellowship, etc.-a second LOCI highlighting different programs or courses that interest you is useless.rosebowlchamps100 wrote:Chardee_MacDennis wrote:rosebowlchamps100 wrote:

At some point, if you're still held or on the waitlist, they'll ask if you want to remain on the list and specifically tell you not to send another LOCI.

Yeah im curious as well exactly what kind of response you got for asking. The school fees are not included in the full tuition scholarship.Winston1984 wrote:Does full tuition include fees? I think so, yes. She seemed underwhelmed by my response, but I was opening up at work and in no mood for phone calls.pagenotfound wrote:Just curious, who gave you the call? Is it Rebecca?
