I'm almost certain we probably got rejection notices, which sucks because this was the only app I paid full price for. Oh well, its ok. I had initially thought AZ residency was simple to get, but after reading many horror stories of people not getting residency I'm not too sad. Oh btw my prediction on us getting rejection emails is because, if we got accepted/waitlisted we would have received an email almost immediately yesterday or today. Most people who got accepted on here received emails/waitlisted as well. Hence since we received neither, probably rejected. Guess Arizona dosen't like me haha, UofA waitlisted me, although I think my numbers were competitive, but applied late.upstateboy wrote:I just got "Decision Rendered" with decision letter mailed 3/24...is this a good or bad sign? does anyone know if they send rejections through the mail? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone received scholarship information yet? I got an email about Financial Aid, but how about merits?
p.s. I haven't gotten my official letter in the mail yet, so it may be in there.

Also, finally movement as of yesterday... hopefully it's positive? I'm in the boat with some of you, hoping for an answer on Friday and was told to email for a decision if I dont get any word.

In via email on 3/25. I'll wait to see what kind of $$$ they offer, but unless it's something like full tuition + stipend w/ no strings attached, likely will withdraw.

Changed to In Review today. I have a $500 seat deposit due at GW on 4/14 though, so if I don't hear back in two weeks, I'm withdrawing. This is ridiculous. I'm an AZ resident and ASU was the first application I submitted.

I received a 90k scholly, which is a full-ride as long as I gain residency. Am I crazy to still consider Pepperdine when I will end up with about 57k in debt?? I am from Los Angeles and plan to eventually work in policy/public interest in California. Can you guys weigh in? Any current students? Not having any debt after law school and going to a top tier school seems like a no brainer, right???

Having really low debt is tempting. Did you consider how much your COL will be in AZ vs CA? If you are living with family in CA, then you are probably saving some decent money there. I would reach out to ASU's career services and get information about students making their way to CA post graduation, reach out to those alums and learn about their experience first hand. Eitherway, you have a good problem, GL!

I have yet to get my scholly info in the mail, but I am in a similar situation with Pepperdine. I would live with family, but if the scholarship is big enough Arizona is the same price as it has a lower COL and I can live in my own apartment, etc. I DO want to come back to LA eventually as well (not PI though), but I'm open to that changing in the future should I LOVE Arizona.

I got the same offer - I'm definitely leaning toward taking it, but I'd review what others have posted about residency. AZ does NOT make it easy on people to obtain residency. As to your question, I don't know...ASU doesn't have a great out-of-state placement rate, but if you're willing to work a couple years in AZ and then try to move back to LA, that might be a good option.Stella77 wrote:I received a 90k scholly, which is a full-ride as long as I gain residency. Thanks everyone for your input! I have definitely been doing my research on the residency issue, and I know its been a struggle for many people but I have found posts that say how people have successfully done it and the steps people that are rejected did not know they had to take, hopefully I will be successful. I am willing to work for a couple of years in AZ but just don't plan to live there for the rest of my life. I'm going to visit the school next week. I'm not able to attend the events the following weekend though. If you guys attend maybe we can post the pros/cons we have all factored in from our visits.
