Well, at least the EA cutoff is coming up on 20 Jan. Although I hope none of us wait that long!

Re: OSU Moritz c/o 2017
On the one hand, I am consoled by that fact - but given the fact that my LSAT score is on the low side, and it (my application) has sat for so long at the "in-review" stage - I hope this doesn't spell bad tidings for me in the future. But also - I've been thinking, and what do other people think the phrase "admission decision" means? What I mean by that is do people think that by applying under EA strictures we have locked ourselves into either a strict acceptance/rejection, or could a deferral from admissions, a decision to hold an application longer, count as a decision in itself?Decimus wrote:Well, at least the EA cutoff is coming up on 20 Jan. Just a thought. Admittedly, one that keeps rolling around in my head.

They might consider waitlisting a "decision". That's fairly reasonable.Wheeler90 wrote:On the one hand, I am consoled by that fact - but given the fact that my LSAT score is on the low side, and it (my application) has sat for so long at the "in-review" stage - I hope this doesn't spell bad tidings for me in the future. Judging by the fact that the 20th is MLK Day, I reckon the EA folks should hear something this week. Why does that make me more anxious?

Thanks! I also live in Ohio now and have come to love it, so I'm pretty excited about this.jk148706 wrote:Congrats!brrrrcat wrote:Accepted via status checker/email today. Go bucks! (the Michigander - but not wolverine thank god - in me is soo confused)

ETA: my status checker went under review sometime last week. Can't recall the specific day but I went through an "under review" phase.

Comparable stats but I haven't heard anything yet and I applied before you did. Oh that's rough! C'est la vie!

I did debate posting about it knowing others who were similar were still waiting. At least this shows there's movement and you're in good shape. Noo idea what hustled up my review process.Decimus wrote:Comparable stats but I haven't heard anything yet and I applied before you did. Oh that's rough! C'est la vie!

10 weeks as of yesterday and nothing. I've pretty just given up hearing before February 1st.jk148706 wrote:Whoa. Does anyone happen to know if OSU is always this slow or if this year is representative of an abnormal pace?

I called Jimmi Nicholson (the Assistant Director of Admissions) on Tuesday and she said the office is moving slower than usual because one of their staff members has taken a new job with the university. She assured me all early admission decisions would be out by the 20th though.

Is the the 20th or the 30th of January? because I know the status checker says Jan. 20th 2013 which would be last year, but the law school website indicates a deadline of Jan. 30th for the decisions on early admission applications… I hope it is the 20th!!dwalt1 wrote:I called Jimmi Nicholson (the Assistant Director of Admissions) on Tuesday and she said the office is moving slower than usual because one of their staff members has taken a new job with the university. I asked about that too, and was told it will be the 20th.

Are they planning on working Monday, or should we really expect by tomorrow? Any insight?dwalt1 wrote:I called Jimmi Nicholson (the Assistant Director of Admissions) on Tuesday and she said the office is moving slower than usual because one of their staff members has taken a new job with the university. For those who have already been accepted, did you receive anything about financial aid?

I'm not sure if they will be working Monday. She told me to call on Tuesday if I haven't yet received an email, so I would assume they will be closed for MLK day.Decimus wrote:Are they planning on working Monday, or should we really expect by tomorrow?
