I did the interview with ad rep. The interview was probably half an hour. Admittance Decision was mailed ten days after interview.Michigan1442 wrote:Did anyone else do a Skype interview with an admissions rep rather than meeting with an alum? Ha, I think I am waitlisted because I don't see any packages from Fedex. I think it is because I didn't request an interview. Funny because everybody with my stats has been accepted thus far. If true, somewhat petty of Vandy. Then again, they did waitlist some people last year only to later offer acceptances plus large scholarships.

I did a Skype interview in mid-December (about two weeks before I actually applied). It lasted about 35 minutes, including the 3 questions that I asked at the end.Michigan1442 wrote:Did anyone else do a Skype interview with an admissions rep rather than meeting with an alum? So has anyone interviewed with an alum in person and not have their status update? I interviewed in late November and had no update afterward. Sitting at 11/19

I can't go to an ASW, so I'm visiting Feb 17-19 (they've arranged for me to sit in on a class/tour/all of that). They're amazingly accommodating.JustHawkin wrote:For those accepted:

They'll pay for you to rent a car and give you credit towards a hotel room. Or you can stay with a student for free.JustHawkin wrote:Any idea on travel stipend for those traveling a distance?
ETA: or a plane ticket if you're really far away, I think. I drove so take that with a grain of salt.

If they do the same thing they've done in years past, if you're flying they'll set up the flight for you so you don't even have to worry about shelling out and getting reimbursed.

If I'm traveling with someone will this make it difficult? Obviously I wouldn't expect them to pay for him too, but would we be able to get tickets together?Keicar wrote:They book the flight for you but you have to pay upfront and then they'll reimburse the full amount. I would just call them and see if there's a way you could work it out. The admissions office is incredibly nice, and you're already in! Be adventurous.ZipWhenSheMoves wrote:If I'm traveling with someone will this make it difficult? Re: Vanderbilt Law c/o 2017 applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I'm doing this! I just filled out the travel form and requested the exact flight numbers that my travel buddy was going to be on (noting that I was trying to travel with someone). It worked out fine! We're in the same row and everything! PM if you need more info on how I did this but it was pretty simple. I'm going on a non-ASW visit, but the form is the same, I believe.ZipWhenSheMoves wrote:If I'm traveling with someone will this make it difficult?
