Admission Interview Program for J.D. Applicants:
More information promotes better decisions both for law schools and for law students. That's why we encourage all applicants to schedule an in-person interview as part of the application process. More than 700 VLS alumni interview applicants in 37 states, D.C., and 12 foreign locations, and VLS admissions officers interview applicants at dozens of scheduled events on university campuses and in major cities from coast to coast. Visit Virtual VLS for more information and to schedule an interview; interview requests must be made by December 1. Complete the Admission Interview form in the application to inform us of your interview status at the time you apply.

It's a giant binder/folder with a lot of information about the school. It's pretty epic and awesome. It's apparently 5 lbs, so people have been checking with Fed-Ex to see if they have a 5 lbs package from Vanderbilt coming their way.
Keicar wrote: Just to add on - Fedex will automatically notify you when the package is sent to your address if you're signed up for Fedex Delivery Manager. If you do not have this account, you can also call Fedex customer service and they will tell you if you have a package in route to your address (and the weight of that package).

Congrats! I just submitted last week, interview in a couple of weeks. How was the interview? What sorts of questions did they ask?

Interview was cool. They just asked basic Qs: why vandy why law have you been to Nashville tells us about X etc.

Submitted my app about 10 days ago, and did the interview one week ago. Lasted nearly two hours at a local restaurant. Not sure if that's good or bad....

Oh well, I have a 25th LSAT so probably doesn't matter. Hoping to get on the waitlist and have some luck later on.

Checking in. Interviewed last week with an alum from my undergrad. It was really casual and actually fun to hear about this guy's time at Vandy.

Checking in! Had my interview on Monday (it was more of a conversation than an interview.) Vandy is one of my top choices so I'm hoping for the best. Anyone else applying but retaking the LSAT in December?

Applied October 2nd, had my alumni interview a week prior. My Virtual VULS says that something was mailed to my address 10/10, but there's no information on what that is/was, and I have not received it yet. I'm assuming it's my decision, but I suppose I'll see in the next couple of days (hopefully).

My VULS says the same thing, that something was mailed 10/10 but haven't seen anything. I'm wondering if it means anything at all.

I'm undecided, still, on whether to apply. But it can't hurt to try, I guess.

I have this as well. My application email said they were sending a view book, so maybe we were all part of the same mailing group and it was just late going out or something? I haven't received anything either.

I also had a 10/10 mailing date on the vuls site, and got a view book. Thanks for the false hopes vandy

I had my interview last week! If you are doing it with an alumni, it's very very casual. Honestly, it was more of a conversation than an interview. I brushed up on Vandy history/stats/faculty/classes the morning prior to my interview and then reviewed those notes for an hour leading up to the interview, and I would say that that is more than enough preparation. Come with a lot of questions though; they are willing to tell you anything and everything about the school. The information was pretty useful too. Nothing but good things to say about Nashville.

I interviewed at the school during my visit and was told decisions won't start going out until late November

hey everyone! can anyone who has had an interview with someone from admissions tell me what kind of questions they ask? it seems like it was pretty chill for most people but I am curious if it is different with admissions officers.

From what I can tell it was pretty much the same. Why law, why Vanderbilt, what do you like to do outside of school, most rewarding extracurricular experience, just stuff from my resume. I also did a tour so after the question part we walked around the school and they talked about different selling points of the program/building/whatever and answered questions I had.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
