USC c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014) Forum

Hey guys, checking in. Got in today! Was on 2nd read for a while, switched to final read this morning, then decision around 4 pm via email.

Stats: 165/3.75 (3.86). I show the second GPA because that's what I had w/o lsac dinging me for an "nc" I got for a college class I took while in high school. I don't know how much USC considered it, but it was def in my addendum. Graduated from USC as well, if that means anything.

As far as I can tell, today my status changed from "Committee Review 2" to "In Final Review" and later to "Decision Finalized," and then I got the email.

LSAT: 168
GPA: 3.64

I checked my USC status five minutes before you posted this and then again now expecting a change. No change. Congrats though.

in! Does anyone happen to know where to see financial aid/awards? Can't really find anything discussing money. Thanks!

I read on their website that they send scholarship money info in a separate email. Every student is considered and 1/2 of the class receives aid, $5K per year to full aid. The Rothman is the other one and for only one student for each incoming class; it's full aid and other perks as well.

Thanks -- I guess I just have to wait a few days then I received an email to apply for the rothman scholarship but I didn't really have time to finish the app so hopefully there are plenty of other scholarships available!

I'd even wager USC can help more than T10s as far as SoCal jobs go.

My mistake, I didn't mean in that order. I meant for SoCal placement, USC > UCLA, Vandy, UT

I've gotten into both Vandy and UCLA, so I'm not rationalizing here, fyi. USC Law is known for "hyper-regional" placement in Southern California. The Trojan Network is a real consideration for opportunities in LA county and OC.

Admitted yesterday. A little surprised given my numbers:
GPA: 3.94
LSAT: 162

I called the Financial Aid office to see when scholarships might come out. They directed me to the Finacial Aid Director's voicemail. I left a message but dont expect to hear back.

Last year scholarship information seemed to come out during the first week of February...

My friend just got his acceptance email yesterday. I knew he had gotten a 160 on his Oct. LSAT so I asked him if he retook, but he said no. Not sure what his GPA is though. I thought $C would be a long shot for me but now I have a little hope since I have similar stats as him. Still in 1st comm. read though... ugh

No worries, I only meant the Vandy > UCLA bit. I applied to USC and UCLA myself. UCLA seems to have slightly better overall employment numbers than USC, though ...
