I don't know if I can wait that long. I've been complete since January with no movement. I'm thinking of depositing elsewhere.rion91 wrote:Lol. Patience is a virtue. I can wait that long. That's so convenient! It's only about 2-3 weeks after deposits are due at the other schools I've been admitted to. I've been in CR2 since 3/3.onlyunholy wrote:Spoke to someone very nice in the admissions office. Decisions should be finalized by mid-May..
Before I applied to USC I read on other sites that they're extremely slow in releasing decisions and I don't get how they've gotten away with it for so long without losing too many applicants to other schools. Maybe it's a game so that only students who are hell-bent on attending USC will go there, since they'd have to turn down all other schools and wait until summer just to even get their decision from USC.

I applied on the deadline, if that makes any difference.. but her wording made it seem like all those that applied by the deadline should receive their decisions by mid May..
It is a bit disheartening since so many decisions have to be made before mid-May. You can't exactly ask other schools to extend their deposit deadline because one of your top choices has yet to decide on your awesomeness, haha.
Such is life.

There were people who paid deposits to T20 schools only to get off the waitlist at the t-14 last year and enroll there as late as June and July.

I assume most people will hear earlier but they will keep the waitlist going until may..

I thought Cornell was slow and didn't think there could be a slower school in updating/responding to applications, but somehow USC managed to beat them by quite a bit. Like, what gives?! Do they realize they're losing so many strong candidates to other schools? UGH

They are not losing much if other people get accepted to t-14s.altoid99 wrote:I thought Cornell was slow and didn't think there could be a slower school in updating/responding to applications, but somehow USC managed to beat them by quite a bit. Sooooo should I assume a ding since I went straight to final review after being CR1 for a month? I don't think I've heard of someone being accepted straight from CR1

Don't assume anything. Everyone is different. Only assume a ding if you don't get an acceptance email approximately 24 hours after you go decision finalized and don't see wait listed on your status checker (of course there may be exceptions, but this seems to be the pattern). Hang in there everyone still waiting!Ally Mcbeal wrote:Sooooo should I assume a ding since I went straight to final review after being CR1 for a month? Same here. I live in the South, so I figured it would take at least 2 to 3 days to receive something. Not this long.mermaidprincess92 wrote:My decision was finalized March 24, still haven't received any email or letter (mailing address is in CA so it shouldnt take long)... not sure what to make of this

According to LSN, it's mostly rejections right now.

Still nothing here. One would think they would show more urgency especially after the ranking decline but I take it they have more qualifed applicants than I think..

Re: USC c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
what a waste of time dealing with a bunch of people way above the 75th who probably won't even consider, you would think they would focus on those who might enroll. Just terrible work by the admin.. These people should have been admitted already and waitlists should have gone out by now..
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
