I got that status 10 days ago and I'm still waiting on a letter...might have to call them tomorrow if it's not in today's mail.

Call. I called, saying I wanted to change my address on file and they told me I was in.

GPA: 3.8+
LSAT: 172
Applied: 1.3.14
Admitted: 1.20.14
Scholarship: Full (Non-Resident) Tuition. Contingent on "satisfactory progress" and no future disciplinary sanctions.

The letter that notified me of my Acceptance also contained the Scholarship information.
Also, the Assistant Dean included a hand-written note.

I don't want this to come across the wrong way (because I am truly thankful for the generous offer I have already received), but do any of you know how to get full tuition plus a Stipend at IU? The LSAC data implies that 9% receive more than full tuition scholarships. I feel awkward asking the school about stipends when they have already generously waived tuition.

Congrats on the great offer! If I were in your shoes I'd also feel awkward asking for a stipend in addition to free ride, so I would probably tailor the email just a bit to ask whether there are any opportunities to defray the cost of living during your education there (e.g., COL stipend, or relevant employment/research opportunities). That way you're basically asking for a stipend (which if they provide them you would be the type of candidate they give it to) while also indicating you're open to other opportunities. You could even ask for "preferably a COL stipend, but other opportunities for defraying these expenses with limited time commitment would be greatly appreciated". That would open up the conversation and then if they do throw employment opportunities at you, you could always turn them down citing too much time commitment outside of studying and then see if a COL stipend is available. Just an idea. Good luck!

Purely anecdotal but I know someone who did exactly this a few years back at Maurer and received a stipend. I can't remember the exact number, though I don't think it was anywhere near full COL for Bloomington, but it was still in the 3000+ range (per year) I think. Of course it also needs to be considered that they were handing out A LOT more money a few years back because they still had that one endowment fund I can't remember the name of.

Had been in review since 11/13. I called a few days ago and was told that me along with some other applicants were in the same situation and to email the admissions committee about getting an update on my application status. In the email, I updated the adcom with some attributes that have changed since I submitted my application (getting a 4.0 for the Fall 2013 semester, accepting teacher's assistant position within my major's department). Today, I got an email back saying that a decision has been made and to expect a letter in the mail soon. What does this mean? Any predictions?

If it helps, <25% LSAT and >75% GPA

They use letters in the mail to notify accepted students. I had to wait about a week for my (acceptance) letter to arrive after I saw the status that my decision letter was in the mail.
Thus, your letter could be good news!

I just checked the status checker and it read that my decision has been mailed. My experience thus far has been acceptances via email and letters have been waitlisted or denied. Hopefully not this time

Conflicting information (even though I appreciation the information!)...can anyone confirm if letters in the mail are just for WL/Rejections or do they send all decisions through the mail?

Cannot confirm that all decisions came through the mail, but I was accepted and received a letter in the mail. I was notified first through email.

Side note: not attending, but I tried to finagle a stipend from them when they were still on my short list and failed.

I also received my acceptance + scholarship via mail and I did not receive an email. It took about 2 weeks from the decision mailed date to receive the letter, but that may have been due to holidays and snow.

Good luck!

That is certainly comforting. Now to wait for the letter... :P

Still waiting. Went into review on 1/13. UR2 1/31. No movement today. I'm out of state so I might not be as big a priority...maybe. Hoping to hear something soon.

Pawnee, Indiana may have significantly influenced my decision to apply...
