checking in again. still waiting on decision (by 1/15). numbers definitely lower than those who have posted acceptances so far. seems they're bringing it down to the wire.

Every school does that (though more so with LSAT score). It's called playing the USNWR game.xoGossipGirl wrote:Now I have no business making a call such as this so I'm going emphasize: this is just a theory, but it seems like they are going through and giving acceptances to all with 3.5+ AND 160+ and holding off on deciding for everyone else. Just a pattern I noticed so far with NE and a few other schools. Again, I am very likely wrong here lol I'm just saying...
Also, I see some people posting that they got $$$ but not how much. Northeastern was the first school that I was accepted to (late November or early December, I forget) but they were stupid stingy about money. I ended up at a higher ranked school on a full ride. So just keep the scholly thing in mind (especially if they offer you an amount per year as opposed to over all three years).

What's this USNWR game you speak of? Never heard it before. But so far I'm not a fan; I submitted all my apps mid-November and have yet to hear from NE and another school on the same playing field. Yet, I saw some kids submit their apps like a week ago and get accepted within the past day. I've come to find that when your LSAT score is below the 70th percentile, it sucks to suck.

Applied 1/19, went complete 1/21. Accepted yesterday via email and phonecall. 30k per yr as it seems others have gotten. Anyone know if a school like this would increase scholarship if applicant has a lot of other schollys/full rides?
I was 3.1/164 plus softs. I fall in an awkward spot between the top schools in region and lower ranked schools. Northeastern seems like a good fit

USNWR = US News & World Report law school rankings. NE has dropped several times (and if memory serves me correctly, had a big drop one or two years ago). Playing the game is snatching up the higher LSAT and UGPA kids in hopes that they'll come since USNWR bases a large part of its ranking on the #'s of the incoming class.xoGossipGirl wrote:What's this USNWR game you speak of?

Did anyone else get an email asking for updates, etc., while the committee reviewed your application?

I just did also. A nice gesture, but I applied October 1st, and I'm getting impatientPattyCake wrote:Did anyone else get an email asking for updates, etc., while the committee reviewed your application?

I wonder now if a LOCI in response to this email would be an annoyance. Thoughts? Northeastern is definitely my top choice.

Re: Northeastern c/o Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I'm writing one. Northeastern is definitely my #1 choice and this seems like an invitation to write an email saying so. I was thinking about sending one anyway but hadn't because I didn't want to annoy anyone - sounds like it's welcome, though.Wbrem wrote:I wonder now if a LOCI in response to this email would be an annoyance. Seriously? What are you waiting for?
