No update here either. I'm hoping we'll have some movement by the end of this week. I remember Dean Cornblatt saying that decisions will be going out to us "very very very soon".

No update for me either. My third update since going complete was on the 24th and I didn't get any request to interview or an email regarding anything. My numbers are higher than theirs but not high enough for YP and I wrote a diversity statement and an optional response....getting nervous. Maybe those of us stuck on the 24th won't hear back until they release their rejections? :(

My status changed several times over the course of a week like that before I was ultimately admitted. Nothing to worry about if it just changed 11/4

Good to hear. Just worried about YP, especially since I didn't write any optional. Hopefully I'll hear soon. No one else with an 11/4 update?

I am an ED full time applicant. Submitted on 10/1 and did not check status until 10/11. After that, I have got two status update, one on 10/11 and another on 10/21, but I got no further status update since then. Am I suppose to wait for a rejection email?

Anyone also in similar situation?

For the group interview, you should pretend to be part of the admissions committee. For the first part of the interview, you break in to small groups and discuss what things you would look for in applicants and any innovations you might add to the admissions process if you could. The second part of the interview Dean cornablatt gives presents applicants with C&F issues and then asks you to comment on how you would evaluate their app in light of those issues.

I've had four updates since the Philadelphia group interview on 10/24, on 10/29, 10/31, 11/1, and 11/4.

Are group interviews only for people in the DC area usually? And anyone else who gets an interview invite is an alum interview?

Nope, RD. Above GPA 75th, near LSAT 25th (lol).

Has anyone interviewed with an alum and not had an update yet? I interviewed last Monday and my status hasn't updated since the 18th, which is when I got my interview request. My guess is that my interviewer hasn't had a chance to send in the interview report yet, but everyone I know who has interviewed has had a status update a few days after their interview.

Did an optional interview last night w an alumna. Everything was easy and casual. In fact she tried to sell me on the idea of gulc. But she also asked if gulc was my top pick-- which I didnt know how to answer. Anyone else experience this?

I also got an interview request just now.

Anybody who's been through the alumnus, non-group interview want to PM some insight? It would be much appreciated.

Kanye

The interviews are actually pretty casual and not stressful. Already did interviews for gulc and vandy. Both times I felt like the interview was much more for me than for them. Both felt like the interviewers were selling me their schools rather than me having to explain too much about myself. They also fielded questions about their careers and why they chose their respective schools. So the tone is extremely friendly.

I did however give them a good reason as to why I would love to be there. Why their school makes sense for me. But that part was easy bc they'll talk about how well their school places etc. I piggy backed on those very reasons to explain why their school was the right fit for me.

For both I had a printed copy of my résumé. I had to upload a resume for Vandy beforehand and the interviewer had a copy. Gulc didn't make me submit mine.

Also, wore a navy suit.

One question that caught me off guard was "if gulc is my top pick"
I felt like if I answered that it isn't my absolute top pick I would be at a disadvantage. Can anyone chime in on this?

I had an alumni interview last week. Tone was as described above- very conversational. She asked be to bring my resume and I would say 80% of our conversation revolved around that. Why did you choose to work for X? What were some projects you worked on? How did you get involved? ect. Then she asked me to send her a copy of a paper I published last semester as it was within her discipline and we spoke about that for ~5minutes or so.

Ended with a standard QA session about the school/culture. She did ask me where else I applied but I did not get a feeling at all that she was going to use that in her evaluation. In fact, she even said even if you don't go to GULC keep in touch i'd like to hear where you end up.

Whole thing lasted about an hour.

Hope that helps.
