Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Congratulations to everyone who got in!
I was wondering if anyone else here hasn't had a status update since "Application complete"...it's been a few weeks for me.
I wish the status check was a little more informative =(
Edit: just noticed my status was updated on the 27th, but it's still "Application Completed"

It's not the end of the world, I got around 8 updates, including something like 4 after the interview, before I was accepted.fivestarfolds wrote:Well... no letter in the mail after my third complete on 11/27. The wait continues.

Acceptance letter came in the mail yesterday! Submitted 10/17, invited to interview 11/5, completed interview 11/19, three date changes after that.

Are you RD/ED, below/at/above medians - if you don't mind me asking?pompoms wrote:Exact sametaylora wrote:Congrats to the admits!

I'm RD and at/slightly below. Seems like they are doing these in batches with the auto-admits first.
The wait is excruciating!

Below both, URM, unique softs. Definitely a reach school for me! I was stunned to get an interview in the first place and it has all been moving so fast since I went complete that the lag now is painful. It makes sense it would take a bit longer for me to hear than auto-admits, though.taylora wrote:Are you RD/ED, below/at/above medians - if you don't mind me asking?pompoms wrote:Exact sametaylora wrote:Congrats to the admits!

Accepted!
ED, 167, 3.82
Received the letter with a personal note from Dean Andrew Cornblatt. The letter was dated November 27 and postmarked November 29. My application was complete on November 20. I had at least two status updates (I didn't know to count). I was slow to check my mail post holiday because I wasn't expecting anything for another week at least. Oh, and no interview. Also no extra essays for Georgetown. Just a personal statement, resume and two solid letters of rec.
So if you're applying ED, you might get your letter early!
Congrats to all the admits, and see you next fall!

Had my interview this evening. Seemed to go very well. Was much more of a simple conversation. It lasted around 1.5 hours at a local hotel lounge. There were no gotcha question. Just be prepared to talk about your experiences to this point, why
Law, what you want to do after school, and have a lot of questions ready to ask the interviewer.
Overall it was very relaxed and friendly. We each had some wine and I actually enjoyed the experience. It seemed to be heavily weighted towards being a GULC pitch (although that is probably too strong a term) than a straight up evaluative interview.
All in all I think it went well.

Yep. No idea if that is the norm or not. But it was definitely a "hey let's just chill out in this swanky lounge for a bit and chat while we sip some wine, no rush" sort of thing .barrelofmonkeys wrote:1.5 hours?lawschool22 wrote:Had my interview this evening. Question for those admitted:
How much longer after receiving your letter in the mail did you receive an email from Georgetown alerting you to your admission?
Thanks!
