Sounds like she is done with her visit, but I'm happy to answer any Qs she might have. Current (evening) GULC student.cocobutterkisses wrote:Hi guys! I have a friend visiting georgetown law tomorrow. She plans on sitting in on a class, but is there anything else she should do? She'll only be in DC for the day, so she really wants to get a good feel for the campus and the student body environment, as she's choosing between three great programs. Also, if there are any current Georgetown students who could give her a quick show-round (Gtown doesn't have an accepted students day? wut.) please pm me and I can forward you her details!
Thanks for any help/suggestions! (I told her to post here, but she was scared yall might be mean )

I wonder how long this date is going to be seared into my brain after this is all over. Why do I even bother looking at the status checker anymore?
I am a first year student at GULC. I did not have an interview ever. I didn't even know they did interviews... I hope that makes you feel better!

I already posted this in the waitlist thread, but idt that thread gets much traffic:
I sent my LOCI via fedex and it should have gotten there Friday around 3-4pm. I saw others saying they had a date change after sending in LOCIs, and mine hasn't yet...now I'm wondering if they haven't had a chance to read it (maybe it got in late than I thought, or on Saturday), or it got mixed up/lost somewhere. Should I send an email to tell them that I sent something? And if I do email, should I attach a pdf of my LOCI?

Can't speak to their ability to receive and respond to LOCI's, but I've noticed that the admissions office in general seems to be majorly bogged down--at least for the past two weeks. I sent a specific, focused email with a single question re: my financial aid situation over two weeks ago. No response other than the auto-reply that says they received it and to expect a reply in 2 or 3 days. Followed up after a week with a phone call and was told I'd get my response the following day. Still crickets on my end. I suspect they're in full crunch mode and all communication has fallen way behind at this point.dobie1 wrote:I already posted this in the waitlist thread, but idt that thread gets much traffic:

Just had my first date change in almost two months (2/21 --> 4/14). Anyone else? Still at "Application Completed" however. Submitted in early February.

We're up to 4 dings for the day on LSN and no WLs or accepts. This is probably impossible to answer but does that give any indication about what will happen to those who received date changes today but no decision?

You may be lucky and get waitlisted. I got dinged today too. It burns, but I'm glad they're being honest and getting it over with. We're up to 4 dings for the day on LSN and no WLs or accepts. Most of the accepts are coming mid-week by mail. Check the box Wednesday or Thursday. If not, they may make you wait until May 1 deposit deadline, and still kill you softly.
Still haven't heard from GW. I'd be happy to go there and poo poo Georgetown at every chance I get. Dean Cornblatt can KMA.

Just waitlisted via e-mail. What was the number of regular WLs that were eventually admitted? Any of them get money?

I'd love if it was. What's your reasoning?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Good point, didnt take that into consideration.
Admissions said that they would try to send decisions by mid april to students that applied by the first of march. Were coming up on the end of what could be considered mid april with relatively few decisions being reported this month on lsn and here. I would hope they care that other schools have deposit deadlines, as they do, on may 1, and imho the closer they send out acceptances to that date the less likely people would be to still consider attending. At this point ive gotta decide if i want to deposit at a school with a scholly or save the deposit money in case i am fortunate enough to receive an acceptance or wl at georgetown, and i doubt i am the only one with that quandry. Im fine with getting wl'd, pwl'd, special grouped, or denied, i would just like to know where i am at so i can plan accordingly. Especially with the 3 waitlists carp that they pull, how long can it really take to make a decision on a candidate?
Hate this process. Really favors those with family money.

They're doing the same thing with scholarship decisions. Some folks got em early on, meanwhile I've emailed to check, called 3 times now, and have been told I'll hear "tomorrow" more than once. That was a few weeks back. I think the office is just swamped.throw stones wrote:Good point, didnt take that into consideration.
