I saw on the LSAC site that they're closed from Dec 24-Jan 1, so that might be part of it, along with GULC being closed/overwhelmed with applications around this time of the year.BentleyLittle wrote:Damn, I submitted over ten days ago and still haven't received anything. Maybe the holidays are holding them up.mx23250 wrote:I received mine the next day after submitting my app via LSAC.BentleyLittle wrote:How long did it take you guys to get your status checkers?
Edit: I submitted mine in early Nov., just fyi.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Thanks for the info! And congrats on your acceptance at Georgetown! My status checker changed to 12/20 on 12/20 and then again to 1/6/2014 later the same day. It's a bit of a reach for me, so I'm expecting a deny/waitlist, but hopefully these recent status checker changes means I'll be receiving a letter either way within the next couple weeks. (I submitted early Nov. and have seen around 5 date changes since then).lawschool22 wrote:It just remained on "application completed" and still says that. My status checker changed twice near the date of my letter. Once on 12/21 then again on 12/23, and according to the date stamp on the letter it was mailed 12/23. So there may be a status change on the date they mail it.mx23250 wrote:For those with decisions via mail, what did your status checker do beforehand? Did it indicate a decision was made? Or was it just stuck on "application completed" when you received the letter? How soon before your letter did the status checker date change? Thanks!

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
It doesn't change, but if you read through this thread, you can get an idea of what to expect. There have been some trends (3 status updates then the letter is in the mail), but there are no hard and fast rules (I had something like 8 updates and then was admitted).mx23250 wrote:For those with decisions via mail, what did your status checker do beforehand? Georgetown doesn't send admission packets. All of the information is made available on the ASW. The only physical things you will receive are things like admission/scholarship letters, holiday cards, and booklets about the faculty.2014entering2014 wrote:has gulc sent out admissions packets yet? like physical ones?

I haven't had any date changes since 11/26 (and I submitted on 11/22). I'm wondering if not being able to make a group interview hurt my chances?

Did you let them know you couldn't make it or did you just decline?MrMileyCyrus wrote:I haven't had any date changes since 11/26 (and I submitted on 11/22). I'm wondering if not being able to make a group interview hurt my chances?
I couldn't make two, but continued to let them know I would be interested if I could fit it in with work. They hooked me up with a alumni interview after a few weeks of radio silence/no status changes.

I made the interview on 11/14 or something. No date change since. Are your numbers well above medians?

They scheduled a group interview near my hometown, but I'm currently working in DC, so I told them I wouldn't be around to make it. I didn't express interest in trying to reschedule, although I would be interested. I assumed they'd be likely to try to schedule a DC interview, but apparently not.BmoreOrLess wrote:Did you let them know you couldn't make it or did you just decline?

Do people receive an email once accepted or do you find out only via snail mail?

People have reported it can take several weeks. Also someone called GULC I guess and said they would be updating the system next week, so presumably we can log in after that.phillywc wrote:Got my letter a week before you, same.edwardt1988 wrote:Got my letter on the 26th, still can't log into ASW

For all the admits, is a "Why Georgetown" letter a big part of the process if it's not addressed in the PS?

Nope, GTown isn't big on that. Interview seems to be how they are screening possible YP.LoganFL wrote:For all the admits, is a "Why Georgetown" letter a big part of the process if it's not addressed in the PS?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I was going through this thread and couldn't find a real definite answer, so I was just wondering for ED applicants: on the website it says you'll hear an answer within three weeks, but does anyone know if that includes weekends/ holidays, and as far as being accepted, does it mean sent in the mail by three weeks, but not necessarily received?
I doubt anyone knows the real answer but any speculation would help haha. Today is exactly three weeks from my complete date so I'm wondering since I haven't received an email if that's a good sign and I need to wait for the mail, or if it doesn't really mean anything.

Sent within 21 days. Although, I think it was on day 25 that I received my "Held" email.nothingspecialhere wrote:I was going through this thread and couldn't find a real definite answer, so I was just wondering for ED applicants: on the website it says you'll hear an answer within three weeks, but does anyone know if that includes weekends/ holidays, and as far as being accepted, does it mean sent in the mail by three weeks, but not necessarily received?
