What does being held mean?? Is being held the same thing as simply not hearing from them yet?

Fwiw, I think being held has little to do with the interview. My interviewer turned out to share a mutual friend of mine, and I know for a fact that he (the interviewer) said glowing things about me. I'm sure it's numbers based more than anything else, so I wouldn't fret if you're in this situation.

I anticipated it. I am a reverse splitter (high GPA from a good school, low lsat scores) but above average softs and a history of mediocre standardized test history since elementary school that is pretty well documented. I think it means that they like us to an extent, but are not sure if we are the best bet. They want to wait until December lsat scores and applicants apply to see what they are working with before they give us a decision. That is why we are getting held no later than feb. 28th. The long wait continues....

I agree it is not much to do with the interview. My interviewer told me I was an exceptional candidate. At this point GULC simply wants to protect their numbers

No interview! I live near DC so I'm surprised they didn't interview me.

Hey you're in that's all that matters! The fact you didn't interview makes more sense now with your timing being so quick. I'm starting to regret choosing to do the alumni interview!

Anyone else out there who hasn't had a status update in over a month?

Submitted 10/29
Complete 11/1
2nd Complete 11/5

LSAT = 75th
GPA = slightly below median

I also have not had an interview request. Anyone else in this boat? Should I be getting worried?

Yay! Congrats :D I had the same complete date, but I live much farther from DC, so I am hoping that means I will be hearing some good news too.

I had my third status change on 11/27 but then no letter came and I thought that maybe it was a false alarm.

The admittance letter arrived in the mail today. It was dated 12/2 with a postmark of 12/4. I know some others had the same status date as me and I just wanted to encourage you that there is a still a chance!

The LLM in Securities makes GTown a very attractive option.

No interview btw.

I also got my acceptance letter in the mail today (first one of the cycle!). I got updates 11/14, 11/20, and 11/27 and I had no interview (not surprising because I live in the Southwest). I am a reverse splitter (4.1+ GPA with a 165 LSAT) and a URM. My letter was dated 12/2 and postmarked 12/3.

Hey everyone, some splitter love here (25% GPA, >75% LSAT)...

Just got the acceptance letter (12/6), applied 11/11, complete 11/12, status updates 11/14, 11/20, and 11/27.

Good luck! And congrats to everyone else that got in!

What happens if you cannot attend a group interview?
People with my submit/complete dates have been admitted without an interview already, so I was wondering if they would just make a decision as it is.
Both numbers are above the 75th.

For those of you that have interviewed...how long did it take between accepting an interview offer to being contacted by your interviewer? I accepted their interview offer more than 3 weeks ago--and there is still nothing. I'm wondering if I should contact admissions and let them know.

That seems about kosher. Took me about 3 weeks to be contacted, then about a week to set it up. It was exactly one month after the email that I actually interviewed. Email them if you aren't contacted this week.

Hey all,

What is the best attire for a guy to wear to the alumni interview? We are meeting at the interviewer's office.
Any tips other than being prepared to answer "Why law" and "Why GULC"?

Thanks.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
