As a general matter, Texans+driving don't mix. Worst drivers in the country.

Couple that with icy roads? I get that people want admissions decisions but its better this way bros.

Personally I'm tired of snow days, this is the 5th one and one my classes has been cancelled 5 times. Make up classes are way worse than normal classes.

That's not going to stop me from enjoying my time off tonight though :)

Dinged a few weeks ago but didn't find it out until recently (the mail was in the spam folder).

Good luck to everyone else!

I disagree on the driving. I think Texas has pretty good drivers compared to plenty of other states I've driven in. California was better though.

Yeah, they keep happening on either Tuesday or Friday. When do you guys do make up classes?

I'd have to agree, they're absolutely terrible here in Houston. I lived in Austin for about a year and it wasn't nearly as bad, though the roads are generally pretty rough.

That one class doesn't normally meet on Monday so that's when he schedules make ups. We end up have that class 4 times in one week and threes classes in a row on Monday, which doesn't sound like a lot but its kind of brutal.

At least beyond 1L, a lot end up on Friday because there are very few Friday classes so there are fewer conflicts.

For 1L, a section's schedules line up so it's easier to schedule a make-up.

Take it as a good sign?

Me three.

If you really have Texas in your heart it should be a piece of cake to write! Good luck and congrats

I think i just got accepted via email through an invitation to join them on Facebook! Here is what it says: "Please join us on Facebook (FB)!

We have created several informative groups for the Class of 2017.

In the first group, we hope to share the wonderful opportunities UT Law has to offer. We will be able to communicate with you, and you with us and one another, via chats and email notifications. We will provide deadline information (e.g., financial aid) and other important admitted student information.

To join, please click here: Class of 2017

Asked to write the why UT letter last Thursday, handed it in on Saturday, and got this email on Tuesday.

I'd assume that means they are out of the office through Wednesday meaning they aren't doing much this week.

BigZuck clearly has never had the misfortune of setting foot in Louisiana or Florida.. definitely worse drivers, although Texas isn't exactly good either.

Does driving through LA on the way to New Orleans count? I have had the misfortune of gambling at the Isle of Capri, that has got to count for something!

Guilty as charged when it comes to FL. And I'm ok with that.

So now that the "Priority Deadline" for FAFSA has come and gone, does anyone have any idea when to expect aid packages from the school?

It seems as if the financial aid goes through the university-wide financial aid department, not directly the law school (although I may be wrong in this, just from seeing the pages). If that is the case, typically it comes mid to late April.

That UT financial aid notification scared the heck out of me.

so I got my "application received" email exactly 2 weeks ago but no status checker yet... how long did it take you all to get your status checkers? i.e., should I be worried :)

It seems to be taking longer now. But don't worry, it is worthless.

This is a random question, but any LGBTQ people who were open and out on their applications get in?
