With a basis of absolutely no experience, my gut reaction is that they are trying to decide whether to YP you or not.Rt887 wrote:I just received an email giving me the opportunity to submit a "why texas statement" given my non resident status/"given that you are a very strong applicant".
Did anybody else get this? any idea if this is good or bad?
Stats and complete date are in the LSN link in my profileanubis1911 wrote:stats?snapdragon25 wrote:Admitted today via phone call! Out of state FYI

It's a large envelope, with "Welcome to UT School of Law" on the outside.Mojosodope wrote:Does anyone know if the acceptance is a letter or a package?

I don't know if the different envelopes "mean" anything, or if they're just working with a couple of different styles, but mine said "Inside: All thing Austin". The contents were:MoHendy wrote:It's a large envelope, with "Welcome to UT School of Law" on the outside.Mojosodope wrote:Does anyone know if the acceptance is a letter or a package?
Hmm, that's interesting. I got 2-5, but I don't believe I got 1 or 6. Might give them a call to ask about that.ScottRiqui wrote:I don't know if the different envelopes "mean" anything, or if they're just working with a couple of different styles, but mine said "Inside: All thing Austin". 1) Dean Ingram letter, with Non-Resident Tuition Exemption and scholarship information
2) Dean Ellison letter, with "what to do next" information (transcripts, LOI, enrollment deposit, etc)
3) Four-page excerpt from the Fall 2013 Alumni magazine
4) Brochure for the Judicial Clerkship Program
5) Copy of the "Torch" newsletter
6) The "Greater Austin Newcomer Guide" (this is what makes the packet thick - it's a 200-page magazine.)
The contents might vary depending on whether you were RD or ED, whether you're in-state or out-of-state, or any number of other factors. I really have no idea, and am just trying to put a data point out there. Also, I imagine all of the information in the Newcomer Guide is on their website if you don't want to wait for a paper version.MoHendy wrote:Hmm, that's interesting. I am in-state, this is very possible. Likely will call in and check anyway.ScottRiqui wrote:The contents might vary depending on whether you were RD or ED, whether you're in-state or out-of-state, or any number of other factors.
