No, be patient. You'll get the worthless status checker eventually. Then if you are admitted you'll get called and then a few days/weeks/months/years/millenia later your status checker will reflect that.kobe1020 wrote:Applied 1/4...had nothing except an email confirming that they have received my application...should I be worried or at least call them to see what the hell is going on in Austin...?

I sent mine in the same day as you and just got the checker 2 days ago. I would wait until Monday.kobe1020 wrote:Applied 1/4...had nothing except an email confirming that they have received my application...should I be worried or at least call them to see what the hell is going on in Austin...?

Haha, my hopes are that they are working to let me know about $$$ But good luck! Hopefully it doesn't take too long. I applied 11/30 and had a decision call 12/17.kobe1020 wrote:That's comforting ... Care to expand on this?Attax wrote:Thanks! I know for those of us accepted they want a LOCI eventually, I'd definitely recommend sending one in if you're on the WL as well!JRO1989 wrote: Yeah we'll see, I hope so. I accepted the spot and I will be waiting it out. We'll see what happens.

I'm fairly certain it was Texas. In the admissions packet (which I don't have on me right now) they explained they wanted you to sign a letter that they'll send to us in like May or June so that way they know we will be attending. I guess calling it a LOCI is wrong.cannibal ox wrote:Care to expand on this?Attax wrote:Thanks! The thing you're referring to is called a Letter of Intent.

Re: Texas c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Ah okay, my apologies to anyone who I confused. LOI! NOT LOCI. But I still think LOCI would help if on the WL. All my other schools haven't said anything about a Letter of Intent.Pneumonia wrote:The thing you're referring to is called a Letter of Intent.
Edit: For anyone I may have mislead, I have had and do currently have all the current info that you will get via the admittance packet over at the C/O 2017 page:

Guess that's why residency really matters..
Can they expedite process for all UT graduates

I had a question about writing a LOCIAustinbound wrote:bombombom wrote:Waitlisted by email. International student. anyone knows how to improve my chances?

I was waitlisted by email, and in the email they said reply within two weeks if you wish to still be considered (which I obviously do).
I was thinking of writing a short response to the email, basically saying "yes I am still interested" and a few reasons why and then sending a more complete LOCI by snail mail once I have it prepared. Does that seem excessive? Should I just put what would essentially be my LOCI in the response email?

One email can do everything you want to do. "Thank you for your email. In direct reply to your inquiry, I do still wish to be considered for admission at University of Texas School of Law. Attached please find a letter more fully detailing my continued desire to attend UT." Not necessarily verbatim... I'm sure there's a better way of saying it, but you get the point.bostonbrewer wrote:I had a question about writing a LOCIAustinbound wrote:bombombom wrote:Waitlisted by email.
