Good to know, I could definitely see it being different since they have pretty different administration and everything.shifty_eyed wrote:Just double checked, and it is different for law (and other grad programs).Attax wrote: Not sure if that's what it means for the law school/if they're related, but I can speak on the locked in for the Undergrad stuff at least as it may carry over. As an undergrad (so may be 100% unrelated), they set a flat rate for full time, any classes more than that and you don't pay extra, so I pay the same for 12 hours as an UG as I would for 18 hours. It has varied year to year as tuition increases are implemented, however.

Lol I got a 5k/yr scholarship. Pretty cheap on their part IMO given that they give the ED folks 10k/yr. I'll definitely be negotiating this upward if I matriculate here.

It's also different from UH who charge by the hour for Law and last year or two years ago kept their tuition level (on a per hour basis) while reconfiguring their program to require one more hour for 1Ls (thus an increase of about 3%). I think you got it back in 2L/3L (as in, I think the graduation requirement of hours remained the same).Attax wrote:Good to know, I could definitely see it being different since they have pretty different administration and everything.shifty_eyed wrote:Just double checked, and it is different for law (and other grad programs).Attax wrote: Not sure if that's what it means for the law school/if they're related, but I can speak on the locked in for the Undergrad stuff at least as it may carry over. Hey guys,
I posted on here earlier, but I just got a scholarship offer, so I wanted to update everyone with how my complete process went to give you an idea of what to expect. Here's how it went down for me:
Applied in the middle of September
Complete early October
Accepted via phone call the week of Thanksgiving
Sent admission packet in mail containing admission letter, a print out from a newsletter, and list of their students who did judicial clerkships.
Sent 3 reasons why I should choose Texas through mail.
Sent scholarship offer through mail. The scholarship offer was really a pretty good one
I applied RD, am an in-state resident, and am not a URM. GPA is 3.9x and LSAT is 170.
So that's about it! Good luck with the whole process everyone!

Same thing happened to me this morning. Does this mean that we will be getting phone calls this afternoon, perhaps?jcb5329 wrote:That moment where I didn't scroll down far enough to see the "Admission Granted on December 13th" status update haha. RD. PM for Stats.
Stats are in profile, btw. Seeing this acceptance first thing was definitely a great way to start the week.

Can you guys please give time of when you submitted application? Also, did you not get an email alerting you to a status change, etc?
Thanks,

Hey y'all, I went complete 10/14 and have not heard anything back. The status checker just says under review. Should I be worried?

Does anyone know ASW dates? Does anyone know their travel stipend policy?

I emailed the admissions office last week and asked about this, and got this response:deputydog wrote:Does anyone know ASW dates? Does anyone know their travel stipend policy?
The UT Law Admitted Students Day is March 20-21, with Friday being the most important day to attend. We start it on Thursday with some optional activities, primarily to allow people to travel from out-of town. For those who cannot attend in March, we have a 1-day mini-visit offered on April 4 and April 11.
After scouring last year's ASW thread and the admit thread, it looked like there wasn't a travel stipend but don't quote me on that.

Congrats to all recent admits!
Was about to apply but no hidden waiver, and they said no when I solicited. Jerks.

I honestly have no clue how my turnaround was so fast... I also got into NYU today after submitting 12/9.

I'm not gonna lie guys but you all have higher numbers than me but I'm not ashamed lol
GPA 3.6
LSAT 161
URM
Softs include a graduate degree and 4 years of professional experience.
I'm not sure if my case is relevant to the bulk of TLS members.
But I feel blessed just to be in this situation.

Congrats! Once you are in law school, the undergraduate GPA and LSAT are not going to matter one bit. You made it into a great school and that is certainly something to be proud of!OsaroLJ wrote:I'm not gonna lie guys but you all have higher numbers than me but I'm not ashamed lol
