I'll do my best...

1. Admitted Students Day is April 11th. I know most people go to this. If you live close, you can schedule a tour whenever you are free. Some of the students even give tours in b/w classes!
2. I am from out of state, but I looked online and spoke with 2L's and 3L's in the facebook group for my graduating year and they gladly answered questions I had about all of the apartment places.
3. I signed kind of late in July which was tough because I couldn't move in until 2 days before class started. The whole ILSP I was in a hotel and had to pay for that until my apartment was ready. If you are committed to UF and have time, I would find a place and sign as quickly as you feel comfortable.
4. My answer to 3 kind of blends in. I got in the night before ILSP and then moved in Saturday before class. It was a little rushed but I had no problems. The first few days of class the teachers were very helpful and not overwhelming us.

BONUS: Loans got disbursed maybe 2 weeks into the school year. They were released in time to pay tuition and same goes for 2nd semester.

In case it has not been posted yet, I ran across this article and thought I would share.

Apparently, if nothing else, UF Law is a lot of fun.

Does anyone attending have any tips for what kind apt to look for? I live in Gainesville currently, but I wonder what to do about the potential of leaving Gainesville for the summer months (to complete externships/internships, etc.). How are current students handling that and how many students actually leave town for those positions?

I would guess about 10-15% of students remain in Gainesville for the summer. As for apartment tips, just avoid the Continuum.

Those links were great. Haha. I'm sure most of the partying will be on the weekends though. There isn't anything like tailgating at the Swamp on gameday though. Lots of alcohol and good times.

From what I know about my friends searches - most people that go here are from FL so they look for a job where they can live at home or where they can stay here in Gainesville. I think most people gravitate towards going home and not staying in Gainesville. The 10-15% Nebula said is a good estimate. I'm looking at stuff back home in DC. I know my roommate right now is looking for a 9 month lease for next year so that he can have the freedom to go anywhere in the summer and not pay double rent. Some places offer 9 month leases etc, so you'd have to look into that.

Is it worth applying this late in the game? Accepted @ FSU, but thinking about reaching out some more (as an OOS).

Median LSAT
25% GPA @ top UG
decent softs

Definitely apply. If you don't you will always wonder what could have been.

I believe the rankings from US News will be released tomorrow... anyone else anxious to see how FSU and UF play out this year?

I'm a bit anxious, but after digging deep into firms and judges in Florida - most have graduated from UF. Between the "prestige" and alumni network (UF puts out twice as many JDs as FSU), I still think UF is the better choice as long as you are dedicated and make top marks.

Status changed to "Final Decision Reached, Notice Issued."

I would normally be completely confident in an acceptance and a scholarship, given that I am above the 75% for both LSAT and GPA...but I was stuck in "Comparative Review in Progress" for a while. Not sure what to think, but I guess I'll find out within the next few days.

I think you'll be fine, especially if you're above both 75th's. The last few waves have all been acceptances, many to people who were also in comparative review purgatory for weeks and/or months. I don't believe anyone has been dinged or waitlisted yet either so you should feel confident.

2015 US News Law School Rankings Speculation:

It looks like UF will be ranked between 45-48 and FSU will drop out of the top 50. According to early leaks here are the top law schools for:

Student selectivity (combined median GPA/ LSAT): http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog ... ivity.html
UF is #48
FSU is #55

Median GPA: http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog ... gpas-.html
UF is #45 with a 3.55 median GPA
FSU is not in the top 50

Median LSAT: http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog ... cores.html
UF is tied with the world at #46 with a 160 median LSAT.
FSU is not in the top 50

I hope you're right, Nucky! I live about an hour and a half from Gainesville, so I could know as early as tomorrow.
Also, does an acceptance come in a big or small envelope?

And great news about the ranking, thanks for the links, Roberto.

Until the perception of UF being the superior school changes, which I don't see happening anytime soon, they'll continue to get the better students. Also, FSU's LSAT/transfer rankings gaming doesn't help their reputation amongst insiders either.

Mine came in a large envelope similar to what most other school's acceptance packets look like.
