In via email! My first acceptance, so I may have squealed in my office. I was under committee review, so don't fret for anyone else in that position.

Probably because there won't be a lot of action until after the new year.rduffy5 wrote:Why tomorrow in particular?farhanzarou wrote:Here's to good news for all tomorrow!

I know it's early but has anyone looked at housing options? I go to school across the country but my family lives in NC, so I'm going up to Winston Salem in a week to look at apartments.

I deferred and will be in this class but I live here now. There are a few options right across the street from the school. There are the condos/apartments called Aspen Park, there are also the Crown Polo and Deacon Ridge apartments. I live in Aspen Park which is about a 10 minute walk from the law school.lsatnoob wrote:I know it's early but has anyone looked at housing options? Crowne Park, Crowne Polo, Crowne Oaks, Bethabara Pines, Bethabara Trails, Corners at Crystal Lake, Deacon's Station, Aspen, whatever else is for rent on Brookwood. All are within ~2 miles of campus. Prices/amenities vary.lsatnoob wrote:I know it's early but has anyone looked at housing options? Downtown is ~10 minutes away so you can live there, too.
Campus shuttles run during the week to some of the complexes if you don't want to drive. They run 2x an hour. Can be a pain because some drop you off on the opposite end of campus and/or make you wait around a half hour after class ends to ride home.

Are there any complexes more or less quiet than others? I've never been to the area, so I'm worried I'll end up with noisy neighbors or a party-central place. I'll have been out of undergrad a few years by the time the semester rolls around, so I think I'll prefer a more low-key place.

I am pretty sure all the undergrads except seniors have to live on campus so most of the complexes are grads or townies. I am in the Aspens and they are quiet and close, I will probably stay there as long as I am in Winston.ayl wrote:Are there any complexes more or less quiet than others? Cool! Thanks for the reply. I went to undergrad at Clemson, and unless you were in the Greek system, you were off campus as soon as freshman year ended (and even the Greeks left campus after sophomore year). That led to some really loud living conditions in some places, and in others almost complete silence.shaynislegend wrote:I am pretty sure all the undergrads except seniors have to live on campus so most of the complexes are grads or townies. My understanding is that as far as the Crownes go, Park is the quietest and Oaks is the loudest. Oaks is older and has more undergrads. Park is a lot of families/young professionals/grad students.ayl wrote:Are there any complexes more or less quiet than others? Thanks for the help! On the way back from Winston Salem and found some good one bedroom options downtown. Anyone heard about scholarship information yet?pifhib2 wrote:Crowne Park, Crowne Polo, Crowne Oaks, Bethabara Pines, Bethabara Trails, Corners at Crystal Lake, Deacon's Station, Aspen, whatever else is for rent on Brookwood. Haven't heard anything about scholarships yet, but hoping to hear soonish. I did get my welcome packet in the mail today (or perhaps sometime last week - don't check my mail too often). Definitely ready to hear back about it though because Wake is my top choice and I'd be gutted not to be able to go!lsatnoob wrote:Thanks for the help!
