You may be asked to do an webcam interview, maybe not thought since it is late in the cycle.Baby_Got_Feuerbach wrote:Applying here really late (FWIW, their deadline has been extended to May 1st) -- anyone have an idea of what I can expect? It's on Reynolda Rd. just north of the intersection with Polo.shaynislegend wrote:I am in Winston and have never heard of that place... do you know what road it is off of?lsfox86 wrote:Does anyone have any input on the apt complex The Corners? Looked at those apartments a few years ago when my sister was going to grad school. Not bad but not great. The location is good, although it's on the other side of campus from the law school. I would definitely take a look before you rent. I remember things being pretty dated.lsfox86 wrote:It's on Reynolda Rd. just north of the intersection with Polo.shaynislegend wrote:I am in Winston and have never heard of that place... do you know what road it is off of?lsfox86 wrote:Does anyone have any input on the apt complex The Corners? Agreed, they are certainly nice enough, just not as new as many of the apartments around the campus. They are on the other side of the campus, but other than Aspen Way/Park there arent really apartments on the law school side of campus, and the Corners arent any further than any of the other nearby apartments. I will say they tend to be more grad students/young professionals than some of the other complexes and if you care about having grounds with more mature landscaping, they are nice for that. It just sort of depends what your priorities are.nickpapagiorgio wrote:Looked at those apartments a few years ago when my sister was going to grad school. Not bad but not great. My priorities are proximity to school, low cost, and absence of undergrads. Did we ever get an answer as to why Wake grads last year had such a lower employment rating? New LST just came out and Wake dropped about 10%.

It looks like the underemployment score made up the difference in the overall employment rating. It jumped from 21.2% to 33.3% This is somewhat concerning. I wonder if it has to do with the lower bar passage rate last year...cricketlove00 wrote:Did we ever get an answer as to why Wake grads last year had such a lower employment rating? Well the underemployment score includes those who didn't pass the bar but still :/lsfox86 wrote:It looks like the underemployment score made up the difference in the overall employment rating. If this is the case, then why did UNC's employment stats improve?msx3 wrote:problem with the NC bar in generalcricketlove00 wrote:Did we ever get an answer as to why Wake grads last year had such a lower employment rating? New LST just came out and Wake dropped about 10%.

It looks like W&L caught up to WF on overall employment this year and has better biglaw+clerk numbers, despite what happened in US News.lsfox86 wrote:It looks like the underemployment score made up the difference in the overall employment rating. Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Don't forget that they are using different years. U.S. News uses 2012 and LST uses 2013. So you can't compare an increase in LST to an increase/decrease in U.S. News unless you look at the change from 2011 to 2012.LurkerShirker wrote:It looks like W&L caught up to WF on overall employment this year and has better biglaw+clerk numbers, despite what happened in US News.lsfox86 wrote:It looks like the underemployment score made up the difference in the overall employment rating. UNC's stats improved because the number unemployed and seeking actually went down slightly. This resulted in a slight improvement I think. http://www.law.unc.edu/career/employmentdata/cricketlove00 wrote:I thought that too...lsfox86 wrote:If this is the case, then why did UNC's employment stats improve?msx3 wrote:problem with the NC bar in generalcricketlove00 wrote:Did we ever get an answer as to why Wake grads last year had such a lower employment rating? I'm really surprised at Illinois' increase. Now I'm starting to really consider that full ride…….. gotta make my decision by the 14th.

Yes -- but we were wondering why, since Wake is saying that there was problems with the NC bar, UNC didn't have any problems like that...

Do some googling. The NC bar has gotten a lot harder because they bar thinks law schools in NC are graduating too many people. Passage rates for everyone have gone down but lower-tier schools (Elon, Campbell, etc.) have gotten hammered.lsfox86 wrote:this whole "problem with the NC bar" seems sketchy

Okay but this still doesn't explain why UNC is largely untouched by the difficult bar.nickpapagiorgio wrote:Do some googling. Yeah, I think Wake's Bar excuse is kinda weak. UNC also took a hit in Bar passage. I agree that this is kinda strange.cricketlove00 wrote:Yes -- but we were wondering why, since Wake is saying that there was problems with the NC bar, UNC didn't have any problems like that...

I mean that's probably just an excuse. But bar passage rates were lower overall this year.cricketlove00 wrote:Okay but this still doesn't explain why UNC is largely untouched by the difficult bar.nickpapagiorgio wrote:Do some googling. Hmmm.
This doesn't drastically change my idea of Wake, to be honest, but I still think something weird is going on. Maybe it was just a weird year?
