We don't really know yet because interviewing is so new to Chicago and they're greatly expanding the number of people being interviewed this year. The spreadsheets made by LS22 is your best bet for that information, but obviously the sample size is quite limited. (But download the spreadsheet before your filter it or you'll kill a kitten!)

The mylsn graph from last cycle shows very few dings at all and none for the march 8 wave. If I've been sitting on ur2 w no interview invite today, do I really have to wait until Late march for dings. Or have dings been different this year.

IIRC, it seemed as though the office was falling behind, and at some point they seemed to pick candidates to interview regardless of interview date that were very strong. It appeared as though they wanted to get those acceptances out before admitted students weekend. So that could explain the behavior, and if it does I guess it would depend on whether or not they're falling behind this year.

I'll post this here as well since I know people were waiting for it.

To all my fellow Rubies: the official scholarship package has been emailed including your estimated loan package for everything the Ruby doesn't cover. It also includes when our scholarship response deadline is. (or this was only sent to me so far and I have totally outed myself to admissions :P )

Sorrry, bom. It was a quasi-Christmas Vacation reference that I just could resist. You'll have to take it up w/ Clark W. Griswold.

So I see that the interview is optional and declining to interview won't immediately eliminate me from the running. But is accepting the interview recommended?

Do the interview. The only reason to turn down the interview is if it will actually be logistically impossible, and that basically means only if you're a soldier deployed overseas without access to the internet.

Sure, the interview is optional. But one of the important things they're trying to assess with it is your interest in Chicago, and turning down the interview sends a pretty clear message on that score.

The only people I have talked to that declined the interview got wait-listed. And some of them swept HYS, so they definitely have the stats. Do it for sure

Just for fun, here are some useless statistics.
========
The general breakdown of the TLS applicant pool by medians is as follows:

    GPA<3.90 / LSAT<171 = 18%
    GPA<3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 49%
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT<171 = 15%
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 18%

Interestingly, about half of the applicants represented on TLS are above median in LSAT and below median in GPA (ie, splitters).
========
For each group, here is the percentage that have received interview requests so far (eg, 31% of the applicants represented on TLS who are below both medians have received interview requests so far):

    GPA<3.90 / LSAT<171 = 31%
    GPA<3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 38%
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT<171 = 54%
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 34%

This data is also very interesting because it suggests that UChi favors reverse splitters, which is supported by the acceptance statistics (see below).
========
The average wait time, in days from complete, for those who have received interview requests so far is as follows:

    GPA<3.90 / LSAT<171 = 46.7
    GPA<3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 61.3
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT<171 = 49.2
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 59.3

As you can see, UChi takes its time sending out interview requests, so be patient. Also, if, for example, you are below both medians and haven't heard anything for more than 46.7 days, don't freak out--this data is based on what has happened so far and may not be a good indicator of what will ultimately transpire.
========
Here is the percentage of those who interviewed that have been accepted so far:

    GPA<3.90 / LSAT<171 = 11%
    GPA<3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 40%
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT<171 = 54%
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 70%

And here is the percentage of those who applied that have been accepted so far:

    GPA<3.90 / LSAT<171 = 7%
    GPA<3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 19%
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT<171 = 38%
    GPA≥3.90 / LSAT≥171 = 31%

The percentage of those who interviewed that have been accepted so far appears fairly low, which suggests that there are a lot more acceptances coming down the pipe.

Enjoy!

Yes. One of my friends is above both 75ths, declined the interview, and got waitlisted. Obviously, anecdote isn't the most statistically sound advice, but take it for what you will.

I would hope so. People really can't be bothered to take 15 minutes out of their day to talk to a school they spent money applying to?

What about the ten seconds it takes to put pants on? The two minutes it takes to turn on the computer and log in to Skype? I'm a busy person.

Everyone agrees you don't need to waste the 10 seconds putting pants on.

Thanks for this!!!
I've been meaning to do this myself but always found something that I had to do every time I opened the excel file.
It's interesting to see that GPA<3.90/LSAT>171 people are the majority.
Good work! :D :D
