What's the typical time between UCR and an update/decision? Asking for a friend.

Depends which UCR you're talking about. UCR1, UCR2, etc.?

Sorry for objectively discussing something that lots of people ITT were already talking about. I forget, who is forcing you to read this thread? Reading facts and data should not "terrify" a future lawyer. I highly doubt a discussion about Penn YP in the Penn applicant's thread is "scaring the piss" out of anyone.

Feel free to start a YP thread if you don't think its a bad idea.

I probably wouldn't expect anything for the next 4 weeks at least.

I'm trying to lay out a schedule for ASWs, and can't find the info on the site.

When is the Penn ASW? Do they offer two?

Try the admitted students' thread. We would be useful if we could, but most of us are too busy stressing about not being able to join you on that thread yet (or ever! ).

I was going to wait a full week to ask that question, you know, until the hormones settled. :p

For the record, I'm not terrified of YP, it doesn't apply to me in the least. But I read at least one post in response to the figures that mentioned being terrified (or some similar word) by them, and after they took up about 3 pages I got sick of reading them too. And for that matter I don't remember saying that facts and data were terrifying, that's a bit of a misinterpretation of what I wrote. The rampant speculation is what's terrifying. At some point, it becomes ridiculous to keep analyzing the numbers. You might as well look for your future in tea leaves. You're not going to determine your fate or anyone else's this way. I don't think that you ought to be so offended, as a future lawyer, by someone questioning the relevance of your "facts and data." Sheesh. People take their forum posts very seriously around here.

I wasn't offended by anything you said. I just didn't understand why you felt the need to be the arbiter of what we can and can't post in this thread. I'm sorry you got sick of reading our discussion, but again no one forced you to read it. You could have easily skimmed over it until something of interest to you was posted. Do you really expect everyone in this forum to be interested in every post?

I'm sorry you feel it's ridiculous to keep analyzing the numbers. You're entitled to that opinion, but I think we were having a perfectly reasonable conversation.

We were not trying to "determine anyone's fate" through that analysis. We were actually talking about something relevant and useful to future applicants. That is, does Penn place a large emphasis on your commitment to attending if accepted? It is pertinent information because it may change the angle that an applicant takes during his or her application or waitlists strategy.

Finally, we weren't rampantly speculating. We were using the data we have and trying to come to reasonable conclusions from that.

I stand by what I said earlier. Our discussion was perfectly within the bounds of this thread, and if it wasn't a mod would have deleted it or chimed in. That's what they're here for. I'm not really "taking this seriously," I think those who are terrified by the discussion or "sick of reading" something are probably taking it a bit too seriously. Again, no one is forcing you to read anything in this thread.

I'm not sure what you mean by the hormones comment, so I'll just leave that one alone as I'm sure you probably didn't mean it in the way I think you did.

We can just agree to disagree on this. I would just recommend you don't go around to every thread you're tired of reading and tell reasonable posters talking about reasonable topics that you're sick of their posts.

I feel like there's decisions to be hashed out tomorrow and wednesday. I'd like to go UR1 by the end of the week though:
