I'm sure that line is intended to keep people from calling or emailing to request status updates.Rstein888 wrote:Saw this on my status We DO NOT release decisions by telephone or email. For those of you thinking about biglaw from ND, I have some information that may be useful. It's what I was interested in when making decisions.
This is compiled primarily based on TLS threads, but I personally can vouch for the validity.
We have 2Ls going to the following Vault firms:
Cravath
Sull Crom
Davis Polk
Kirkland
Latham
Baker McKenzie
Greenberg
Jones Day
White & Case
Baker Hostetler
Willkie
Baker Botts
Schiff Hardin
If you want to know specifics, a firm I didn't mention, or anecdotes about OCI, feel free to PM me. These are the larger firms where outing is not as big of an issue. I know of many other boutiques and market-specific firms as well.

I noticed the status checker changed and said "decision made". The about a week later or so, I received a letter via snail mail stating I was waitlisted. I then followed the directions in the letter to let them know to keep me on the waitlist. Hope this helps.JHP wrote:My status on the tracker changed to "decision made" last week.
For those of you who were accepted/denied/wait listed, did you receive all those notifications by snail mail?

Thanks. I'm a little surprised by Cravath. Didn't know they took ND students. I can vouch for Latham's NYC office. My cousin currently works there and is on a team with an ND grad.irish921 wrote:For those of you thinking about biglaw from ND, I have some information that may be useful. Cravath has taken someone from ND two years in a row now. I think the only firm that has not in recent history (to my knowledge) taken someone is Wachtell. Williams and Connolly DC picked someone up a few years ago.Moneytrees wrote:Thanks. I'm a little surprised by Cravath. Didn't know they took ND students. I can vouch for Latham's NYC office. But no SCOTUS so far this year. Haha kidding those are great firms, sounds like ND has some talented students.

When do they pull people from the Waitlist? Do people accepted from Waitlists get money?
When are the deposit deadlines? How much are they?

I'm sure there is no uniform procedure for dealing with the waitlist. Waitlist procedures and scholarship offers are likely case by case.adil91 wrote:When do they pull people from the Waitlist? Do people accepted from Waitlists get money?

I got off the ND waitlist in late April and did get a scholly offer. If I remember correctly, I was given 2 weeks to decide. Deposit is probably the same seat deposit of regular admitted students.

Interesting. I'm above the LSAT 75% and at the GPA 25th percentile. Did you write a LOCI?mu13ski wrote:I'm sure there is no uniform procedure for dealing with the waitlist. If the school keeps WL candidates checking in to express interest, the list should get shorter as time goes on. Time, rental agreements, different start dates, less or no merit awards all could help. But that is still based on an unknown of how many spots left to fill. And if those spots need to be a certain type of applicant

I would attend ND from WL if they beat my current offer. That's why I'm staying on it. I am sorry if I am "taking somebody's spot" on the WL.

Waitlisted, but very interested in attending and plan on riding it out. Wrote a "Why ND" and sent a LOCI, but not sure what else to do at this point (if anything). Does anyone have any insight as to whether a visit might help my chances?

Visit "may" help if you get to speak with the admission and keep pitching why you want to attend ND so much. Otherwise just ride it out I suppose.midwestisbest wrote:Waitlisted, but very interested in attending and plan on riding it out.
