My status on the tracker changed to "decision made" last week.
For those of you who were accepted/denied/wait listed, did you receive all those notifications by snail mail?

I was waitlisted and the decision came by snail mail a week later.JHP wrote:My status on the tracker changed to "decision made" last week.

I had a date change on 4/1. Finally.
How long did it take to hear back for you?

My SC just changed to decision made. Is there anything to do except wait for USPS??JHP wrote:My status on the tracker changed to "decision made" last week.

Did you have the cost of the deposits show up on the sc? If yes, you in. If not, waitlist or rejection. Seems to follow this pattern.storpappa wrote:My SC just changed to decision made. Kinda sounds like it...I went back several pages in the forum and it looks like most people who got in got an email first. There seems to be split opinions on whether the 1st seat deposit not showing up on the tracker means you're wait listed or dinged, but it seems like most people who (1) didn't see the 1st seat deposit on the tracker and (2) didn't get an email soon after the "decision made" change got wait listed/dinged via snail mail.....storpappa wrote:My SC just changed to decision made. I think I must have been either wait listed or dinged. Boo

As suspected, wait listed today via snail mail. Very surprised at this one as my LSAT was above 25th and median. This just supports my suspicions that schools are looking to boost their GPA medians, this year as mine was fairly low.

Sorry about the wait list! Did you write a Why NDLS?JHP wrote:As suspected, wait listed today via snail mail. Very surprised at this one as my LSAT was above 25th and median. This just supports my suspicions that schools are looking to boost their GPA medians, this year as mine was fairly low.
That is surprising, though! I actually got the vibe ND was trying to boost their LSAT median; the scholarships they offered seemed to be based only on LSAT, not really on GPA (at least, above a certain point). That's what I noticed from LSN, at least.

Yes, I wrote a Why NDLS essay, and I actually thought it was pretty good! Maybe they thought I wouldn't fit in? I'm not sure what it was, but I was taken aback as I thought that I did have a pretty good application.prodigal.daughter wrote:Sorry about the wait list! Here is a great map for those wondering about ND's placement power in different states.

I wonder how they're defining "home state" though. Residency during law school or at time of application? Hmm...

For most people, "home state" is probably one and the same. You cannot gain residency in Indiana by simply going to school here (ND doesn't have instate tuition anyway). My guess is probably what you listed as your permanent address.prodigal.daughter wrote: That's an awesome map; thanks for sharing!

Its all over this thread but if your deposit $s showed up then you are in (both deposits). If not, waitlist or deny.dca13 wrote:my status changed to "decision made" april 6th. anyone have any info?any way to tell if im in or do i need to wait for snail mail?

I feel like in today's day and age, a fair number of people have moved out of state at least one time in their lives. I apologize, though... when I said "residency during law school or at time of application," I meant that as one option; I didn't mean to suggest those would be different because someone would switch residency to Indiana. ND could have considered birth state for "home state," or could have considered something like undergraduate state or state where you have the most ties... or even what state each individual identifies as his or her home state.kyle010723 wrote:For most people, "home state" is probably one and the same. Valid point, my best guess is the address you entered when you register at the beginning of the semester, whereby you enter a permanent address and a local address.prodigal.daughter wrote: I feel like in today's day and age, a fair number of people have moved out of state at least one time in their lives. I did the WL response form, but do not see where that is reflected on the SC. Anyone do the WL form and see a change on SC?

Received a tiny bump in my merit aid offer. Doesn't look like ND is really budging this year from their initial offers.

Saw this on my status We DO NOT release decisions by telephone or email. Kind of confused because everybody says that if you are accepted you see the deposit dates and then get an e-mail very shortly after. I couldn't imagine Notre Dame would just straight up lie to people like this
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
