Question for those that have interviewed on-campus-- who from the committee did you interview with and was it as intense as some have described?
Who said it was intense for on-campus people? They actually never asked me anything outside the questions in this thread, which was actually kind of deflating. Just find the list of questions and have a rough idea of what your answers are. Whatever you do, don't stress out about it - you'll be fine if you relax and approach it like any other conversation while showing some interest in the interviewer and school. Good luck and make sure to have some fun while you're in Chicago.

Think someone said it a few pages back because they thought their interview didn't go as planned. True with the questions but if I remember correctly (my interview was back in October so I may be wrong) there was a question that wasn't on that list. I think the question was something along the lines of "what do you think is a misconception people have about you." Anyone else remember that one?

Overall if you still have to do your interview spend the time to write out/map out what you’ll say to those questions, but don’t sound like you’re regurgitating information that you may have eloquently typed out haha.

Ahaha a guy in the waiting room when I was leaving my interview had on a bright purple tie. It was more of a lavender color so it may have been unintentional..but who knows..

Just FYI, thought I'd share:

"@tweetsbyjohann: Due to the weather, if you are unable to make your on-campus interview, please contact the admissions office. We will see what we can do."

Pretty obvious, but I just get excited when I see a tweet by him lol

Soooo did I shoot myself in the foot by choosing not to interview? It sounds like it's basically a requirement for NU, which I didn't realize when I was filling out my app...the main reason I chose not to is because the closest legal market to me is over 3 hours away (and it's a small market), so I wasn't really sure how I would be able to meet an alum in person :(

Had my interview. The interview was "intense" as far as having to think quickly because the questions are asked one after the other, somewhat in rapid succession. At least that was the case with me. I would answer a question and before I could catch my breath another one was on its way.

The list itself is accurate although ALL of the questions were not asked. My interviewer did a great job of incorporating questions from the list into follow up questions based on what I previously answered

All in all I think I did well. Hoping to hear good news from them soon! Thanks for everyone's help.

Checking in. App submitted last night. I want to thank TLS in general and you fellow applicants particularly for opening my eyes to Northwestern as a bastion for 170+ LSAT and shit gpa applicants. Good luck to you all.

Random question about off campus interview. If we submitted our app in early december and requested an off campus interview, are we supposed to just wait for them to email us that they have someone? Then from there we schedule/contact the alumni or whoever it is right?

My interview was pretty casual. I guess I was lucky with my interviewer because instead of asking me questions that I already answered in another question, she would read the question and say, "Oh your __ story is obviously your answer," and then skip to the next question.

Yep! I think the interview portal is updated before they email you but that's usually only about a day or two.

I declined the interview as well and was accepted. I believe there are others in this thread who've reported the same.

Other than filling out on the application itself that you would like an off-campus interview there is nothing else to complete correct? Northwestern will contact me regarding the details of my interview?

Yep, I received notification by e-mail with instructions as to picking a date and time shortly after submitting app (in September.)
