Got my fee waiver today, and I'm all set for an on campus interview as well. Luckily enough, my school is offering a business/networking trip to Chicago for a few days next month and it only costs $50 (school is in PA), so I figured that's the cheapest way to get there so I might as well visit and interview on campus instead of with an alum.

How long after the request did the fee waiver come?

Kudos to NU for giving them out free.

I haven't received my fee waiver which I ordered almost ten days ago.

Edit: I did. GMail considered it this as a "promotion." Won't send in app until November 1.

Good luck to all! Northwestern is awesome. 2 weeks in and I can't imagine a better place to be. Classmates all friendly and down to earth, profs are awesome, and I swear this "northwestern difference" stuff you may have heard about is real. So many upperclassmen have already given me notes, outlines, books, etc.

Stay positive through the application process! And good luck!

-What is your least favorite thing about your undergraduate coursework?
-What is the biggest/most important document you have written?
-What is the most difficult decision you have made?
-What is the most significant project you have managed?
-Tell me about the worst boss you have worked for and how you resolved issues.
-How would your professors describe you?
-Why NU?
-Why law school?
-Have you been to Chicago during the winter?
-Why did you choose your undergrad school?
-What would you change about your undergrad experience if you could?
-How will you define success in your career?
-How do you deal with conflict?
-Tell me about your most significant experience speaking in front of other people.
-What would you do if you didn't get into any law schools?
-If you were accepted to all of the schools how would you decide where to go?
-What was your favorite class? What was you most difficult class?
-What do you do for fun?
-What kinds of extracurricular activities were you involved in?
- What do you think is important to being a leader?
- What traits do you have that make you a successful leader?
- Who or what inspired you to attend law school?

I did an in-person interview last year when I was preparing applications in hopes the Air Force would let me go to law school. No such luck for me, but I figured I'd add to help out those applying now and in the future.

This list is definitely very good. I got asked probably close to half of the questions on it. But there was one question not listed here that I got asked at the very end and it was the only one that caught me off guard.

It was: "Let's say I (the interviewer, who is not on the admissions committee) walk out of here after our interview, hit my head, and can only remember one thing about you to tell the admissions committee. What would you want that one thing to be?"

Probably if you're borderline. Also might help as an indicator of how serious you are when negotiating for scholarships later.

Is it a huge deal in general? Probably not.
Numbers always rule the day.

GL guys!

Also Re: the interview... the on campus interview and the off campus alumni interviews are very different animals from what I've heard. The on campus interview is more formal and is probably what that list is based off of (I know I got a bunch of those Qs during mine), but if you do an off campus interview with an alumni I have heard they are much more casual.

Can confirm this, had an off-campus interview recently in the tri-state area. very casual.

That's a relief.

Checking in. Northwestern is pretty much the only school on my wishlist that isn't a longshot given my GPA.

Hey guys quick question. I have my LoRs on their way, I have my GPA sent in, and I am retaking the LSAT in October. Is it to my benefit to take the interview as soon as possible or should I wait and see my LSAT score?

I don't know if this is old news for everyone, but this year you can ED even if you interview off-campus.

GREATEST DAY EVER.

Well, only if Oct releases early which seems like a stretch, unless they have SRS guilt about last years dates.

Yeah it'll probably be the 28th. Most scheduled Wednesday releases have been out on that Monday, as you probably know. Glad I wasn't waiting last year.

theres really no reason to wait. interviewer doesn't have your numbers or anything IIRC.

It is in your benefit to get ALL of your app in sooner rather than later, so you might as well have the interview knocked out so that when that score drops you're ready to go but until you're totally complete you're not getting any advantage.
