Haha! Very important caveat that I did not know. Is it still in place? I guess I would assume so, since they linked to it on the admitted students website.
I mean, sort of? Some of it was implemented, some of it wasn't, and there isn't a new plan (yet?). The new dean has kept some of Dean VanZ's pet issues going (like the work experience, although it has softened somewhat to maintain the medians). But others, like VanZ's predilection for hiring faculty with PhD instead of JDs, are getting sort of let go (I think?).

But I wouldn't go into my on-campus interview spouting quotes from the 2008 Plan.
Good things to point out. My interview/decision is over, but I just wanted to pass along the find from the ASW. It's interesting they are still linking to it on the current site even though its the old dean's plan.

Question for ya'll: I thought I had completed my apps for this cycle, but I received a fee waiver from NU today (unsolicited), which is tempting. My dad went to graduate school at NU and I'm from Chicago, so I figured it couldn't hurt to apply for free. I'm one point below LSAT median and above 75th GPA.

However, yesterday was the deadline for scheduling an off-campus interview. Should I apply w/an addendum, no interview? Ask for a post-deadline arrangement? Or just forget NU? I appreciate any insight!

^ first of all, yesterday? I just got the email to schedule it today...

Second, does anyone have a link to that document that was posted a while ago containing the interview questions? Thanks!

Me too. Do we still schedule the interview? I thought the deadline passed.

Ahh, I think I'll just apply and see what happens, then. Website clearly says Jan 15 = deadline. I remember seeing that a month ago and writing them off bc I wasn't going to know my availability in time to get a slot. But if you folks are literally just scheduling now, who knows ... ?

It's here - the heading also contains a link to the interviewer's handbook if you're interested.

My understanding was you had to apply by yesterday to be assigned an interviewer. I just got my link this evening and sent a scheduling email. We should still be good.

So I made this crude chart using LSN data to illustrate the decision process at NU. Clearly, if you submitted in Sep-Oct, it's likely that you received a decision yesterday (even the bulk of November submitters were notified on Jan 15 last year). If you submitted later, then chances are you should be hearing back either next week or after next week. This is last year's data.

Dude/ette, that's an awesome chart.

Maybe I'm like super dense and all braintired right now (just getting home after running my crazy dogs into oblivion so they'll be maybe ever-so-slightly-calmer for their play date tonight), but I'm a little confused by one tiny detail: I can't tell if when you say "sept/october" people you mean people who went complete in sept/october (i.e. had their interview already and went 100% complete) or people who just submitted in sept/oct and then perhaps went complete later (like in november).

Most of the previous posts indicate that "sept/oct people" was in reference to submission date, but then your wonderful chart just there is based on complete date. Are they different things? Am I just missing something obvious? Or just missing something not as obvious, but still obvious enough that I should feel stupid?

Thanks!

Now that i've written this, it occurs to me that the correct interpretation might just be a literal one: IF you submitted in october, it's LIKELY that you received a decision yesterday [because it's LIKELY you interviewed and went complete in sept/october]. So now, I'm 100% sure that your posts/chart are clear as day, and I'm just being dumb. But I'm still gonna post this, because I'd love a verifiable answer :)

Awesome chart. Does this include ED?

This thread has decision dates from the 2011-2012 cycle graphed. It looks like waitlists didn't start rolling out until the end of January: http://i.imgur.com/23zGk.jpg

(I don't have permission to embed images due to low post count.)

The decision graph in the OP shows a majority of waitlists going out in February. So don't count yourself out, yet.

Do we know if any AJD decisions have gone out? I was late to the party with a 1/8 submission and 1/10 complete date. NU is one of my top choices.

Not yet. And this tweet my Johann makes me think they'll be even later than expected: "AJD applicants, we are manually retrieving credentials from LSAC. Files will not be negatively impacted due to delay."

Hmmm....still makes me nervous. I was hoping the AJD decisions would be quick enough that I could interview for RD if I'm declined from AJD, but it's not looking likely at this point. NU, if you are reading this, I am officially volunteering to help you manually pull credentials. I would also be happy to save you even more time by reviewing my own application file. I'm already familiar with the details, so the division of labor just makes sense.

Looks to ~90 in that picture. Hope it's all of you. Presumably all these people already know by yesterday's decision letter?

These may even be for people who got decisions back in December, etc. No one has received anything in the mail from Northwestern yet.

Just got a really interesting email from Wake Forest. I think it could be relevant for many schools though:

"This is an especially volatile year in law school admissions necessitating adjustments to our standard operating procedures... However, this year circumstances may dictate a longer and more thorough review for many of our applicants. Given the decline in applications nationally we are more carefully considering all applicant credentials and experiences in the context of a declining pool and more competitive market."

Whoa, nice transparency from them. I'm sure it's affecting them more than the T-14, but there has to be similiar effect going on at the top as well.

Agreed on all counts. The higher you go, the less of an issue you have, that's true; but WF isn't exactly a toilet.

Anyone know how many people apply to AJD and what the acceptance rate is? I think last years class had only like 30 people or something?
