What are your numbers? Do you have any work experience?
I'm above both 75th percentiles, so I figure not interviewing might just begging to be YPed. I don't have any work experience though.
Only reason I don't really want to interview is that I don't really have a genuine answer to the 'why NU' question and I'm afraid that'll come off in the interview.
I'm also above both 75ths as a KJD, and I'm worried about being outright rejected, not YPed. They seem to care a lot about WE.
I would definitely do the interview in your circumstances. They'll want to know that you can handle yourself in an interview even though you haven't had a professional job. Find something you can talk about for 'why NU' -- you don't need to convince them that you think it's the best school in the world, just that you're genuinely interested.

This. Your circumstances make it even more important that you do the interview. You need to show you can present yourself well, hold a conversation, speak coherently about yourself. They care about this a lot. If nothing else, this will provide practice for you for any other interviews you find yourself doing this cycle.
And come on, there are plenty of great reasons to attend NU, I'm sure you can come up with some.

I would also say that if your interested in business law, Northwestern has some very impressive stats about where they place students.

I actually had a very tough time narrowing down all my reasons into the short optional essay. NU is an incredible place for a lot of reasons other than its place in the T14.

Just go screw around on their website for a couple of minutes and jot down the names of some programs, there's got to be something that's appealing! Also, mentioning the atmosphere of collegiality seems like it goes over well with them. (not in yet, so definitely not an authority, but still.)

I know it's going to be another two weeks before I get a decision, but I still can't help logging in to the Status Checker at least once a day. And every day that I wait, the idea of going anywhere else becomes less appealing.

I just had mine. They're pretty painless. Check out page 3 of this thread for a very helpful outline. It's a re-post of something originally posted by Regulus. I thought it deserved another shout out since it came in handy for me. Good luck

My application went complete a month ago. Both status and status date haven't changed ever since. Besides, "Transcript" on the requirement list isn't ticked. All all these normal? Is my application truly complete or not?

I wouldn't worry about the time that has passed, but I would be curious about why "Transcript" is not checked - did you apply through LSAC?

Definitely yeah. I sent all my transcripts through LSAC, and don't have this problem for other schools, so I just assumed this was how NU works for everybody. now it looks like I've been waiting for nothing for nearly a month.

I don't think that is ordinary. I would probably call or email about it.

So, what day will the first round of ED decisions go out? And RD? Should we play Price is Right Rules?

ED on 12/16. RD on 1/13. Even though I'm RD I'll probably check my status checker daily though.

I hear what you're saying about checking even when you know there's no chance of having a decision. I'm convinced that it won't be until the week of the 16th and that I shouldn't even bother checking until the 13th, which would probably only happen if there were some kind of scheduling nightmare at NU admissions the following week. Nonetheless, I check about twice a day.
FWIW, I think that some RD decisions went out in December last year, but I can't be sure.
Also, snapdragon beat you to 12/16, so you'll have to take 12/17.

I haven't been assigned an interviewer and I requested (or put yes on my app) 11/18....should I be worried?

My interview request was completely different from my application filing. I filled out a form on an NU website (well before submitting my application). I did an on-campus interview, and can't remember how the off-campus interviews worked, but you should probably check out the web site. I'm guessing that indicating "yes" on your application is not enough.

I wouldn't be worried just yet. You still have a few days before it hits the three week mark they said it could take. I believe it was only a couple days under three weeks when I was contacted by my interviewer. If you haven't heard by early next week (which should be about three weeks), I'd probably check in with admissions.

I went on the separate link and signed up for an interview when I turned in my app (or the day after) but it still states that I have not had anyone assigned to me...how long did it take for you to be assigned after you signed up?
