Re: Duke c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Hey all, I believe this is my first post on TLS, though I've been lurking for awhile.
Submitted: 1/21 (Priority Track)
Complete: 1/21
Under review: 1/27
Decision: 1/31 (Priority Reserve)
A little disappointed, Duke seems like a great place from everything I've read. I guess all hope is not lost yet though!
My info: 175, 3.5x, very strong LORs (according to my recommenders), standard softs/WE, no ties to South, wrote 2 optional essays. Any specific advice on getting in from the PR, or just the usual?

Man, they must really like GPA. Else they already admitted some high-LSAT splitters and don't need any more.

Long time lurker here as well. About to head into my tenth day into the PT application and since I haven't heard yet, I'm thinking I'm fated for Priority Reserve. This will be the first school I hear back from so hopefully I'm not too demoralized. At 75 LSAT and above 75 GPA.

I went UR2 today.
PT Complete on 1/24
UR1 1/27
UR2 1/31
My 10th day is this coming Monday so I will likely not hear until then (although from this thread it sounds like they do make decisions on the weekend).
I am a splitter. +5 over 75 LSAT, -.1 below 25 GPA.

Just went under review! RD applicant submitted in November and went complete in early January after Dec LSAT score came in. How long have RD applicants typically been waiting for decisions after going UR?

Shouts out to this. My three-month completaversary is coming up next week, and I think I'll get myself some Xanax.Applesauce59 wrote:I have been waiting for about 3 months.admiringatticus wrote:Just went under review! Oy. I guess all hope is lost for a quick decision from Duke.musharraf wrote:Shouts out to this. You never know! I'm a URM with funky numbers and a funky background, so I'm coming to accept that I've got a ton of reasons for basically every school to hold my app to get a lay of the land before dinging me. My worries were for naught - accepted day 10 of Priority Track application! Got the email pretty late, so it seems like not only are people getting emails on weekends but also way after COB. Love everything about Duke except Coach K.

Just checked my email - I'm in as of 5PM yesterday! Exciting stuff. This is proof that there's hope for non-PT folks waiting for months in UR purgatory.

Re: Duke c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
It seems like GPAs below the 25th (3.59) are almost an automatic PR/waitlist even with a >75th LSAT.cron1834 wrote:Man, they must really like GPA. Else they already admitted some high-LSAT splitters and don't need any more.
For context, my GPA was slightly above the 25th and I was accepted with an LSAT that is >75th but not as high as some I have seen ITT that we're PR'd/waitlisted.

At least I have GPA in my bag of tricks. Now only if my LSAT were a few points higher ...gta wrote:It seems like GPAs below the 25th (3.59) are almost an automatic PR/waitlist even with a >75th LSAT.cron1834 wrote:Man, they must really like GPA. How long does it usually take Duke to get back on Scholarship info? I thought it got sent in the acceptance package but I got that in the mail a few days after I got the email. I submitted all of the paperwork and it completed 1/27.

I've been in for a while and received my acceptance package a few weeks ago. This week I received another "Welcome to Duke" letter from the dean but no scholarship info. Does this mean I'm out of luck for scholly $?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
