Unless its the IP or Dean's fellowship. It's a 3.0 stip. We had this discussion with others earlier on in the admissions cycle.

Yep, my details on the scholarship didn't come to a later mailing though. Just letting them know you should see the monetary amount in initial.

Might be that GPA of yours. That LSAT score is one they could use. They'll take more soon enough. Based on people I've met who are committing to SCU, they are the Dean's fellows and high no stip scholarships through negotiations. So be prepared to see the split of really smart and slightly less so group in the student body.

Got an Emery Merit 20K scholarship offer. Doesn't it say if it's annual. Along with packet there was an application form for public interest scholarship. Does everyone get that form or do they screen?

Seat deposit due May 9. Deciding between SCU, Hastings with 13K per year, and Loyola LA with $0 as of now.

I turned down SCU recently and here's why. The Emery Merit is stipulated at 3.0 for renewal. And yes it is 20K per year not per semester. I think its screened in the sense that if you expressed interest in the public interest field. I know I didn't get one but I'm not interested in public interest.

I highly recommend Hastings over SCU because you get the 13k renewable and no chance of losing it essentially. How's your stats? We may get more at Hastings. I'm at $20k at Hastings as is.

Moonlight, I've been wait listed at Hastings. You see any chance of a scholarship at UCH if I get accepted off of it?

Yes. I can see you getting the $13k renewable because its need based more than anything. Just about everyone got it I believe. It has a good standing stip which is like 2.0. Much better than a 3.0 stip. I'm not sure if you'll get additional merit and need based aid aside from that but it's a possibility.

I knew my GPA was going to cause me some grief

But according to LSN, a batch of rejections went out this past Monday and I still haven't heard, so that could be a good sign?! Those rejected all had LSAT scores in the low 150s, however... so maybe I should expect the "low GPA" batch to go out soon

You are indeed my bright, shining ray of hope on LSN! Similar stats and you received a generous scholly. I hope to be in your shoes very soon!

Have you decided where you're attending yet?

Must admit that my obsessive Status Checker checking has reached unhealthy levels. Increased from only once per day on average to about 10 times per day on average.

I am going insane.

I got a word that GPA plays no role for the scholarship. The reason is that GPA does not say much - some schools are much harder than others, and the admissions cannot differentiate. In contrast, LSAT is a universal criteria.

Yet they claim that GPA has higher weight for admission (but not for the scholarship). Sounds like a double-standard to me.

I have low LSAT (156) and high GPA (4.0), and sadly no scholarship. I was curious if anybody else with low LSAT and high GPA got anything (of course non-minorities) ?

I've withdrawn at this point but I was offered 30k per year. 3.18/162.

I was offered 20 K for 3.8/160.

Btw Cal Trask, I forget if I asked you. Have you decided on Housing for the fall?

I submitted my application early January and mid January my application was in committee, then my in committee status date has changed three different times. Once on January 12th, March 12th and now April 30th. I have waited so long, this is the only school I have not heard back from. Can anyone tell me what this may mean? Thanks

I feel your pain. I've been in committee since 12/2/13 (wow, that makes today my 5 month anniversary) ;)

However, unlike you, my in committee date has not changed once. Judging from posts in previous cycles, the applicants who saw their in committee dates change were eventually admitted. Good for you, bad for me :(

To admitted students still lurking this thread:
Can you attest to this? Did your in committee date change a few times before you were admitted?

Oh, and FYI (for those still waiting on a decision):
I caved and called the admissions office today. Was told they're still reviewing applications and hope to have the rest of their decisions out by the end of May.
