And to answer another poster. No scholly info attached in that packet. I think it would come out after we submit FAFSA right?

No, not necessarily. They'll be sending out scholly info as they have a better view of what their applicant pool is like, I believe. Probably either within the next couple weeks or at the beginning of January.

True now that I think about it since scholly isn't based on need necessarily. I'm imagining at the beginning of January considering they may want to see more applicants before awarding this stuff. You in at any other schools?

Still pending. Hopefully I hear from a couple more before I got back and visit family for the holiday; good news is always nice to give.

A scholarship offer? Congrats! Did you receive it via email/mail/phone call? I'm hoping for a decent offer myself.

I really hope I have a scholarship letter in the mail. Hopefully I haven't received it yet due to the crazy weather affecting mail delivery and my location being in the midwest?

Yeah possibly. I actually live in Santa Clara, so it probably took only a day to reach me

Accepted 12/6 via email...fastest turnaround yet. Is anyone going to check out the admitted student reception January 22?

I'd like to, but I live in the midwest and it might get a bit spends. However, given the recent below 0 temps, it might not be a bad trip come mid January :)

Anyone know how to negotiate for more and to remove stip?

I'm assuming the 45k is a 3 year total.

Please read this as an introduction. From what I understand, however, SCU isn't big on removing that 3.0 stip as it's the more generous of their two typical stipulations (the other being that the student maintains a position in the top third of the class). Also, after doing a little bit of research, it seems a 3.0 is essentially just staying out of the bottom 25% of the class.

Sadly it is a 3 year total. And I hear the curve is pretty vicious so it could be not a hard requirement for a 3.0 or it could be pretty rigorous. Either way its still an expensive sticker price left to pay. Hoping to get more scholly. What did you get?

http://law.scu.edu/bulletin/academic-policies/ describes general curve policies a ways down. 3.0 fits in anywhere from top 60% to top 70%. Not ideal (it's still a stip) but not by any stretch unmanageable.

I was admitted regular decision a few weeks ago. The turnaround was only a couple weeks after submitting my application, if that answers your question.

I heard back from SCU Dec 4, and submitted 11/16.

I got the scholly letter in the mail shortly after that - $20k a year, merit based.

What kind of Stats do you have?

They've got four posts, their stats are mentioned in one of them.
