No idea. I don't think it hurts?
I called USC to get my application complete and confirmed it, but no movement past that, though each school is different.

I went to Diversity Day this past Saturday at the campus and asked a Law Admissions Coordinator how their office feels about letters of continued interest. She said they are welcome, so that's what I shall do!Cal Trask wrote:Does calling ever really help anyone?Shirosham wrote: Have you called and asked about your app yet? I'm an URM reverse splitter with strong softs so I understanding it being a tricky decision, but sheesh it's been FOUR MONTHS! On the bright side I'm still just happy I wasn't auto-dinged.

How do I find out which stip I have? Admission letter didn't mention anything, just 30k a year.Cal Trask wrote:Not all stips are the same for Emery.Moonlight wrote:Emery has 3.0 stip. I'd ask to be sure though. It should be renewable with that 3.0.sumaznboi12 wrote:
Emery, but they didn't have any stips on the letter that I was given. Also, it didn't say if it was renewable or not.
The problem is based on their retention rate of scholarships, over half of the recipients lose it by 2L....
Anyone dropping by tomorrow? Gotta wake up and leave by like 7, ugh.

I submitted a LOCI last Friday and got the following response on Monday:
"Thank you for the kind email. I have added a copy of it to your file. We are aiming to decisions out by April 15 - I know that your file has been in committee for a while and we appreciate your patience."

Asked for a scholarship reconsideration. "...It is not our policy to match or increase our scholarship awards based upon offers made by other schools..."
So I will be withdrawing. That's $60k back in the pot.

I'm waiting to see if they'll toss more at me after deposit deadline. But if they don't then I'm out for sure so that would be another $45k back in the pot as well.

I meant for the poster above Jstellini. But to answer JStellini's question. I think it's not ideal considering how long you've been under review. I'd say you may get an offer after April 15th based on who's deposited.Cal Trask wrote:Moonlight wrote:What are your stats?jstellini wrote:anyone know if it is good or bad i haven't heard from santa clara yet. Weird. I've got similar stats to you and my turnaround was really quick. I'm rather clueless about the whole admissions process intricacies but if what moonlight says is true then I don't think you'll have a problem getting in.jstellini wrote:ya im surprised i havent gotten a waitlist or something by now though. id say 5 months complete is more than enough time

I'm surprised he's not in as is though. But I'm sure they'll offer more admissions after seeing the date get closer and seeing who deposits at their school. Based on TLS seems like a lot of us will be depositing elsewhere due to lack of scholarships here so you should have a shot I would think. But then again I don't know your application so this is just me guessing here.

Is Santa Clara not giving out a lot of scholarships? Gah, this is so stressful.Moonlight wrote:I'm surprised he's not in as is though. They wouldn't renegotiate with my friends or me. Anyone else have better luck?

Wasn't planning on attending but the offer is very tempting seeing as I'm just about done paying for undergrad and their admit day swayed me a lot. Heading down to Pepperdine next week but I got friends at both schools that give me really different types perspectives.
Not trying to sound ungrateful or anything. I'm super excited to have gotten into anywhere, but money's a super tight issue for me :/

Top choice was hastings but got waitlisted. Would love to go to santa clara for a year and transfer there as opposed to trying to transfer from usf

Never go to a school unless you'd be happy there for three years. You absolutely cannot count on transferring.jstellini wrote:Top choice was hastings but got waitlisted. Would love to go to santa clara for a year and transfer there as opposed to trying to transfer from usf
