Congratulations!

In the same boat, would appreciate advice. Scholarship money is a big consideration for me.

Are all those admitted today still waiting on an e-mail? Any idea how to access the admitted student website?

Congrats on your acceptance!

Are people who have been accepted applying ED or California residents? I went complete on 11/15 and haven't heard yet. I'm not too worried, but I'm above both of their 75s so I'm getting just a littleeee anxious haha.
In the same boat. NYU was able to give me a decision in under 2 weeks, but not UCLA :(
It's possible they're just going hard after the more likely matriculants, in that case.

Thank you! I did not apply ED, nor am I a CA resident. My LSAT was slightly over the 25 percentile, and my GPA is over the 75th. Also a URM. I also wrote about programmatic contribution (described my undergraduate work's relevance to their legal program). No scholarship offer over the phone, but I am hoping to hear something when I get my official acceptance letter.

Admitted late this afternoon via phone call from Dean Schwartz. LSAT at 75th percentile and GPA just below median. Out of state, non-URM. Application completed around 12/5. Congrats to everyone else! This is my first response from any law school so far, so I'm beyond thrilled!!

Got a call from the dean today too! I actually missed it because I was in class, and he didn't leave a message like they do at NYU. Safe to assume it's an acceptance, right?

I'm a CA resident from the LA area. Not an ED applicant. 3.57 / 177.

Anyone know if they welcome diversity statements or would they rather not take them?

ETA: Like putting it in the Optional Addendum section of their app?

Anyone know how they're notifying admitted students about scholarships? Regular mail?

I'm in! So excited. (169/4.0; Non-URM; RD)

I have been to Cali exactly once, and I was about 12 at the time, so I'm going to have to do some major research to see if this is where I want to live for 3 years :) But the school seems awesome.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting.

It is where you DEFINITLEY want to live, but make sure not to call it Cali 8) You will love Westwood. It's fun, amazing, 20 minutes from the beach and the best weather year round.

This is probably going to annoy some of you, but hopefully you guys can shred some light. I live in LA and honestly UCLA would probably be my first choice if I got in and didn't have to pay full sticker. I've recently felt that I probably wont get in and have discouraged myself from even applying since I didn't receive a fee waiver. I was interested in the David Epstein public interest program, but my personal statement is practically the response to the public interest prompt. Do I have to apply to the public interest program to pursue public interest law??

I fell like if I am accepted to UCLA Law it would be on the grounds of my career goals (public interest related) and previous volunteer work. So it may hurt me not to apply to the Epstein program. If anyone has more information on this I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a 164 LSAT, 90th percentile.(I know retake! Unfortunately I already did, my first score was 161, and have come to realize I have some sort of test anxiety I've never had before, since I was scoring in the low 170s on practice exams. I do not feel I will score substantially higher a third time to be honest, so I'm going to work with what I got.)

GPA: 3.5, History Major.

Non-URM, although I am part Native American with no tribe affiliation- I guess that matters. So basically I'm just "white" (whatever that means) on my application.

I do have a good amount of volunteer history and have had a full-time job majority of my undergrad career.

Part Native American? Isn't that like the biggest URM boost conceivable? Why not get a tribal affiliation in the next few weeks? You could probably get into schools much better than UCLA.

YES IT IS!! But I can't claim a tribe affiliation and I've looked into it, but I couldn't get very far because my mother has lost complete contact with her father's side of the family which has made it very difficult to do anything. Just from reading around these posts and online forums about having to be tribe affiliated, the consensus seems to be that if you don't fill out the section asking about your tribe they do not take your claim seriously. Doesn't make sense to me but it appears that's how it is.

That is regrettable. If I were you, I'd contact the tribe directly and explicate your situation. Given your interest in public service -- or better yet, Indian law (?) -- I would imagine that they would look upon your circumstances favorably. You could always send an addendum to UCLA and other law schools later; we are fairly early in the application cycle.

As a disclaimer, I am not a URM and I have no idea how one would realistically accomplish any of this. I do wish you the best of luck though.

Not Indian law specifically but high-risk youth and child advocacy (including Native American youth). Thank you for your advice, I think I will continue to look further into it and contact them directly!

Best of luck to you as well!!

That's awesome! I'm visiting with my friend who lives in LA next month and she's going to show me around. She's more into the Hollywood side of things, but has been up in the UCLA area at least. Is the cost of Living astronomical in Westwood? Would there be anywhere at all to live with a dog? (I have a small-medium dog, but my parents have offered to keep her if it isn't feasible). I'm spoiled by a very low cost of living right now.
