Thanks for the link! I'm unfortunately still confused. She says "If there is some honor or activity that isn't self-explanatory or on which you feel you need to elaborate further, a short narrative is OK." Does this imply that it should, for the most part, be a sparse list?

E.g., something like this?
-Dog walker (10 hours a week)
-Hair dresser (40 hours a week)
-Doge Award. Awarded to best dog-walker in Japan.
it seems so. i guess you could also do a short narrative for most of them. i too, wasnt completely sure of what she wanted. i guess its more of like "do whatever you want" but at the same time make it presentable and formatted properly.

Read one of the comments on that post from Asha "@ DDMFT: Yes, I noticed some discussion about that on TLS."

I wonder how much of this she reads.

Thank you so much! Hahaha, I don't think anybody here is a slacker. CR and I are very fortunate to have been accepted by these super wonderful schools so early. Best of luck to all of you guys! :) feel free to message me if you have questions. I'll try to respond after I get over the initial shock!

+1. It's hard to motivate oneself when there is no advantage to submitting early. On the other hand, I have written and trashed somewhere near twenty of those things. Someday....

I'm on my 8th draft, still not sure if I want to bother as I am not sure if I want to waste the 60 bucks.

It's worth it! For me, the Yale app is sort of like buying a lottery ticket and just playing the game. Don't stress but do it because it brings a little fun into your cycle.

Quick question here. Does the title of the essay counts towards the 250?
I recall Asha mentioning on her blog that some Adcom would stop reading the essay at the 250th word
I also have my personal info on top of the page, so just wondering now... Does he use the word count or just eyecount

(Current YLS 1L here)

I remember wondering the same thing last year, and I ultimately decided not to include any title. It's unnecessary.
