Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I am indeed going off of the person who said last year's group had 260.
If anything the % of people with a Facebook would have grown although I think this board has greatly overestimated the % of people applying to Yale who would not have a FB.
I think one we pass 250 its uncertain if more acceptances will come but at present I assume a few are left.
I am deeply concerned that now someone is saying that old group has 224; if thats the case then we probably have no acceptances left.

Awww! I'm flattered but I am sure somewhere in these 100 pages I didn't read there's gotta be better
Lol remember myspace though? Like, really remember? The non-optional music that played when you came to my page was really obnoxious of me. Ugh. I hope asha doesn't find a webcache relic of my MySpace. That would be the end of me.

sorry if this was already asked, but have people checked their lsac's and is anyone else in the same boat? I see "status: transmitted." I'm assuming this means I'm getting rejected, but I haven't received any emails or communications to confirm this.

Projections for the roughly young twenties age group are for Facebook use to be down, I thought. Isn't there some kinda migration predicted ? I thought I read that last year.
Personally because I'm an addict, I gave my password to someone trustworthy and had her change it til the next time I need fb for non-bullshitting purposes which is rare.

It probably says that for all of your applications, it means it was transmitted to the school. It said that for me back when I applied.sonyvaio18 wrote:sorry if this was already asked, but have people checked their lsac's and is anyone else in the same boat? I see "status: transmitted." Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
My guess-timation for facebook usage comes from personal experience.
I did an internship through an institute where there were 110 people in our 'class'. The internship was fairly prestigious and most people either went to 'better' undergraduate schools or had decent published research or other important softs for this position.
During a brief 1 hour session on networking we were asked if we didn't have a facebook.
1 person out of 110ish claimed they did not have facebook and had to work out an alternative for something that was done through it.
My best guess is that while Yale students are on average more intelligent then this group, the fb usage would mirror this group.

I'm still bleeding love in Yale Blue, though. #idontcarewhattheysay
I guess I shouldn't have applied in No-vember, though I keep dodging the ding-waves like some sorta don't-ding-me dolphin.

The other night, YLS tweeted about admits at 9:38PM. Maybe that will happen again.

Please stop discussing the likelihood of a Yale admit using Facebook. This is becoming ridiculous

Are we taking "the end of the week" to meet Friday or the weekend? Maybe they're going to ding us all Sunday night.bbkk wrote:Nothing happened last night?

I'm at the ASW right now - in case anyone's interested, they mentioned in the Welcome speech last night that Mr. Janecek and staff were "putting out a fire" in the admissions department (and thus couldn't be there at the speech). Interpret that as you will.

i'm just interpreting this to mean that things were/are getting really heated in committee. they are probably fighting about who to waitlist v reject (and hopefully who to admit if there are a few spots left)92653 wrote:Vursz wrote:I'm at the ASW right now - in case anyone's interested, they mentioned in the Welcome speech last night that Mr. Janecek and staff were "putting out a fire" in the admissions department (and thus couldn't be there at the speech).
