I normally don't click on these links but this was hysterical. I don't understand it, but I like it.

At least with Yale, we know that decisions are coming out at SOME point today (thanks to their Twitter). Stanford, on the other hand, is just a black box of silence and disappointment.
So true. Though, knowing Yale's fondness for late night decisions, we might be waiting for a while yet. I just hope that whenever they start releasing decisions today, they do them all at once rather than doling them out in waves.

Is it possible it was just a small amount and we missed it? I guess that would make sense for acceptances, but probably not dings though.

Yah. I'm waiting on that massive dingwave, which will most likely inevitably include me.

That bicycle race cracked me up tho

Completely unnecessary speculation: It seems as though the admissions office's propensity is to release rejections before sending out acceptances--I wouldn't be surprised if the dings go out first and the acceptances are sent subsequently

More completely wild (and optimistic) speculation: in past years it looks from LSN like Yale has done one large wave of dings around late March/early April, and after that they sort of trickle out. It's possible that the big wave was earlier this week, and we missed any rejections that have trickled out today.

Although I'd really just like to know my fate now, I appreciate the fact that Asha is waiting to ding me when I can shed my single quivering tear at home rather than at the office.

(It's the little things...)

I think this is highly unlikely, but I suppose it's possible. I think we would've seen something here or on LSN, though.

eta: perhaps their tweet from yesterday was just to test our collective RC skills-they said there should be decisions today, not that there will be decisions today . But I think the fact that they said they're trying to get decisions out ASAP means that today's movement wasn't going to be a tiny wave.

Yeah, you're probably right. They also haven't mentioned anything about WL yet on their twitter. I wonder if we can expect to see those decisions soon.

They have such a tiny WL, it's probably not even worth announcing :D They'll probably tweet about WL next week, I'm randomly guessing.

It either hasn't started or it's over. We're not quite sure...

Or it's going on right now. One of those options.

jettison63 wrote:This may be naive optimism (well, I did apply to Yale after all), but I kind of like to think that if people were getting in today someone would have updated on LSN or here..... Dings might be less likely to report as that news isn't exactly exciting...Acceptances seems to bring out people who lurk, dings less so. But then, it's definitely possible I have it wrong because if people don't post you don't actually know.
Honestly, given volume, I would expect notifications of dings rather than admits. But since we've heard neither, I'm inclined to believe that the wave hasn't happened yet---or that only the dings are left.
