I've missed every post milestone until now. I wanted to use #100 to say to JS

Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'll be the one, if you want me to
Anywhere I would've followed you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

As someone who never thought he would get to one hundred posts I was settling for fifty. Also I would take any excuse possible to try and get me some of that good Harvard karma.

This sounds like a line from a song... :D I keep thinking of it as a line from the chorus of "Oxford Comma" by Vampire Weekend.

I think last year was 2nd week of April, so my guess is the last week of April to account for the late deadlines/Feb LSAT.

+1 on both counts. I really hope there isn't a large influx of February LSAT applicants…especially with high scores

Anyone know what the quickest turnaround from JS1 to JS2 has been this year? The typical wait this year definitely seems longer than the typical wait last year from the research I've done. I was told at the end of my JS1 to expect a few week wait before receiving a decision, but one can hope...

If I recall correctly it was like 330 of them last year and 350 of them this year.

170 is 97.4th percentile (source: http://www.alphascore.com/resources/lsa ... onversion/).

175 is 99.4th percentile.

Given that 112K LSATs were taken last year, there were just about 3000 170+ scores. A 1 percent increase is about 30 more people. Similarly, there should have been 750 175+, and a 6% gain would be about 45 people. All this is a rough approximation, of course.

Remember also, though, that the total number of LSATs is also dropping, so a 1% increase is a big deal proportionately speaking (I mean if the whole stockmarket is tanking and your shares in XYZ inc are "only" up one percent, you substantially outperformed the market).

From the spreadsheet, the fastest turnaround from JS1 to JS2 is 6 days (12/17--->12/23), and his/her stats are 175/3.95.

preferably with a JS2

Damn dude congrats. If you don't get in this year you should really consider waiting it out, but I think you'll get it this year (I'm assuming you have a good GPA since you haven't been rejected yet).

Thank you! I'm pretty stunned. I'm hovering right around the median. And now I'm kicking myself that I didn't apply to Yale.

Let's not get carried away here, LOL. I had a 178 too and got toasted by Yale (along with several 180s).

ETA How's your GPA? And are you an astronaut?

So... Finally got my new LSAT score. Sent in my LOCI (haven't heard anything from HLS since November.).

Here's hoping this nets me a JS1 soon...

Congrats on the new LSAT score! Waiting there with you for a JS1 (since mid Feb)... :/

I'm curious, has there been any research to show how much a high LSAT correlates with a high undergrad GPA, or how many of those high LSAT scores have a corresponding high GPA?

If we could get a rough estimate of this, I think we could (roughly) approximate how many 175+/3.7 (or whatever GPA used as a cutoff) exist in a cycle, right?

ETA: I looked at LSN for last year, and I have no idea how one would figure out what % of applicants have GPAs that put them out of contention for HLS. The average GPA for LSAT 175+, 170-174, and 165-169 are all within 0.1 of each other.

yeah all i know is that the data Spivey tweeted indicated that it was closer to 350. Don't forget multiple test takers. Also, the percentiles have changed a bit since 2007-2010 which is what is represented on the chart you referenced.
